Just recently started going to luckeys bar for it's events and good times and had no issues with the place until last weekend during karaoke night I asked for some pool balls to play pool and all I was asked for was my I.D. so I presented it and got the pool balls and played for about an hour and returned the balls. It was at that point I was given my I.D. back and asked to pay $10 which I explained that I wasn't told that before getting the pool balls and asked to speak to a manager and explained that I wasn't told about the fee and that it would just be nice to remind people beforehand. she said she would talk to him. So I come in a few weeks later and told I'm no longer allowed back for the scene I made last time. Which I totally didn't understand and asked why and to please give me an example of what I did and he just told me to leave. Completely unprofessional and unfair. I would understand if I had cursed or actually made a scene but that never happened and I feel like I'm being punished for his lack of responsibility to let people know that the pool tables cost money before handing out...
Read moreLuckey’s is such an iconic and historic place that your brain wants you to come here just so it can make memories of being here. This is the oldest bar in Eugene if not Oregon. It survived prohibition by being a cigar shop (among other things). During the depression it had bunk rooms for migrant workers to sleep in and in the mornings loggers would come and pick up laborers from inside the club for a day’s work. The building was also meticulously moved from its original location on 10th and Willamette where the Overpark parking garage now stands. The building used to be larger and connect to additional rooms. The entire place is like a living antique—don’t forget to take a look at the pool tables. They’re the old school giant ones. Also, this is more of a place for beers and bourbon than wine and margs. Music is loud and space is limited. One unfortunate piece of the past that still lingers with us is the bathroom, but authentic vibes abound and that’s part of the vibe. This would be worth a stop if you like historic or old...
Read moreif i could give this place no stars i would. They absolutely need to switch to a friendlier staff. And if you're trying to bring friends/family for a night out that might be vacationing here: DONT. I brought some of my friends who were visiting from florida & they wanted to see the night life. no where else turned us away & if they were sus they scanned it. All 3 of their ID's almost gotten taken & we fought for them back since they had a flight the next day. If you are going to turn people away because of "fakes" you need to get a scanner so you don't take away real IDs. common sense, they were about to have some cops pulled up on them. Whoever hired the bartender with the glasses & wears a beanie needs to recheck their hiring standards or at least don't be cheap and buy a scanner! never ever bringing anyone here again. Thanks for nothing Luckys! go to the other bars to have...
