My boyfriend and I were in town overnight for a surgery I had to have, and we decided to eat here. That was a horrible mistake. Walking in, the restaurant was nice looking. It was welcoming and had a nice layout. And that is about it for anything good to say. Our waitress took forever to come over to greet us, and when she asked what we wanted to drink, we told her we also knew what we wanted for food...and she seemed really baffled by this. I ordered a full plate of cheese fries as an appetizer, and the 3 for Me meal, which included the potato soup, and Cajun shrimp pasta. My boyfriend ordered the 3 for Me, got the chili, and Old Timer Burger. Before leaving the table, the waitress asked if we wanted chips and salsa while we waited for our food, and we said sure. She failed to mention that there is a charge for that unless we are rewards members. So, the soup and chili comes out. I have always loved Chili's potato soup, and I guess as far as this visit goes....the liquid tasted ok. There was one piece of potato in the really runny soup. My bf stated that the chili was ground beef, tomato sauce, and chili powder dumped in (but he's a chili snob, so whatever lol). After what seemed to take forever, the cheese fries came out...and my disappointment cannot be explained. I don't know if the kitchen staff forgot the fries were in the oven or what, but if I was a server, I would NOT have allowed that to be served to my table. Everything was so burnt and charred, the cheese was like a solid brick instead of the ooey gooey goodness melted cheese should be. And I didn't know it was possible to burn fries like they did, but, life is all about learning new things, right? A few minutes later, a guy brought out our main course, and the garlic bread fell off of my plate, onto the main floor aisle; our waitress appeared right then, and he explained he dropped the bread and he'd get me a new one, which was fine. Then he set the plates down and walked away, leaving the bread on the floor. Our waitress smiled and walked away, too. I can't tell you how many employees walked right passed the obvious piece of bread on the floor...even a manager went right passed it. Finally, around the time we were going to leave, some random employee picked it up and threw it away. Now, onto the main course food. My pasta was barely even lukewarm. There was hardly any flavor (where was the Cajun???), and there must have been a sauce shortage because there was barely any on the pasta. The burger is the shining moment in this review, so here we go! My bf removed the bun to add ketchup and discovered the patty was charred black and obviously just by appearance it was overcooked. One bite into it, he made a really odd face. He said it tasted weird, like maybe it had 1000 Island dressing on it but there wasn't; the reason he chose The Old Timer was because the other burger option DID have 1000 Island and he doesn't like that dressing. He got halfway through the burger and said something was wrong with it, and wasn't going to finish. I didn't finish the pasta, either, and left most of it on the plate. Why didn't we mention all of this to our waitress? Because not one time did she come around to check on us. From what I could tell, we were her only table, and she was super busy getting all the empty tables around us cleaned up. By the time she finally came to ask if there was anything else we wanted (never mind the large amount of uneaten food on the plates), we said we just wanted the check and that we were paying cash. She came back with the check, which was $51 and some change. My bf told her to wait and he set $60 and the exact change down. Her eyes lit up and she said "Thank you!! Enjoy your night!" So, rather annoyed, I confirmed with my bf that he wanted change, right? And she looked shocked, but brought back nine 1 dollar bills. We went to our motel and within half an hour, my bf started complaining about not feeling well. He spent the night vomiting and being utterly miserable. At least he didn't eat the...
Read moreI've been a server and have been a short order cook as well so I understand what it's like. Our experience with our family last night was awful. The server was new so we understand mistakes happen but this was beyond. We waited for about 30 min for our order (she had 3 other tables and it didn't seem all that busy) which was feeling like it was getting to be a bit too long when our server came back and greeted us like we had just sat down. She then realized we weren't newly seated but infact she had forgotten about us and didn't put in our order and had to take it again. She did get our drink order in, not the food. We also ordered 2 more beers. Usually when this happens in a restaurant a manager is notified and the ticket goes to the front of the line. Not here. Our beer sat on the bar ready to be delivered for another 25 min. We could see it sitting there but the server didn't go get it, the bar manager and the bar back apparently didn't notice or help. Our orders of 4 orders of chicken strips ( one of the fastest things to cook) and one steak medium rare took another 30 minutes. And when our order came only 2 of the 5 were correct. That also when she noticed our beer had been sitting at the bar. My son really wanted dessert but it had been 2 hrs and after the food was dropped she never checked on us again until we'd figured out we could pay at the table ourselves. To make matters worse the table by us came later, she also messed up their order and didn't bring the kids food, so they got a free desert on the house. And they left before we got our food. No one offered us anything for the horrible service. She was in the weeds, her 2nd day. So where was the manager to help or anyone else for that matter. They knew she was struggling and they did nothing. She did a terrible job but that can be forgiven. There is no reason for the manager and the rest of the team to act the way they did which was inaction. No one looking out for her or the customers. Especially when it wasn't busy. Just awful. And you can look at my review history, I usually never say...
Read moreWe visited the Chili's last night inside the west acres mall around 6:30 PM with a party of 10 for a family member's birthday dinner . We were understanding of the 15 minute wait as we realize there are 10 people in our party and tables needed to be put together no big deal. However we did wait awhile for a server to come and take our drink order but appetizers came out on time everything looked good until all of our main entrées came out. Some entrees were missing all together and my food was given to someone else in our party who didn't realize it wasn't hers and started to eat it and then when she realized it wasn't hers the waitress try to give it back to me. She then finally asked if I wanted a new one made 😳 My husbands food was cold and had to be sent back so as a party none of us got to eat our meals together!! Then it came time to split the checks the waitress struggled over and over with trying to get everything squared away on the correct checks. She then took it upon herself to argue with a few of my family members telling them "don't you listen? Can you not hear me?" At that point the manager got involved and then accused us of just trying to get a free meal out of them!! None of us received discounts for the horrible service and the time we spent on waiting for our food! We will never return there and I hope the manager as well as the server Khadijah find another job that isn't as "overwhelming, long and hard" as customer service is NOT the industry either of them should...
