Service is everything. Where I have been to Chuys in the past and enjoyed the carryout I have not dined in. My partner wanted to take me there as she had a surprise for me. We went to the bar because that is where I have been saying I wanted to go due to there being pictures of dogs and Chihuahua art. We have two dogs, one being a Chihuahua. Upon getting there she became sad because a week prior she had taken a picture of our three dogs (one has passed away) and got a nice frame and took it up there to hang on the wall, the picture was gone. That was to be my surprise. Even being very sad the picture wasn't there we both understood that this is can happen and it likely fell off and broke to which we know they throw the pictures away if that happens. We decided to sit at the bar and watch the reds game. This is pretty early so there wasn't too many people there and no one sitting at the bar. We sat and two employees were sitting off to the side and one behind the bar. She came over and I asked her if she could turn the reds game on (already started) she said what channel. I said Fox Sports Ohio. The couple at the table behind us commented they too were wanting to see the game. She flipped through channels and got very frustrated at not finding the game. She asked me again which channel and I said again Fox Sports Ohio and that I had no idea what the actual number is for their service. She gave up, put it on golf and put the remote down never saying anything to us. Then went to wait on another customer. Never once waiting on us and saying she couldn't find the channel but would look into it. She just said nothing, didn't wait on us and had an unpleasant look on her face. Communication is key. So we left and me and my partner both said that being our first dine in experience, we...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place because I love Mexican food, Tex Mex food, and Elvis Presley but I was very disappointed this evening. Dined in with my family of 6 and the wait wasn't long at all. The hostess even kept us updated frequently. The decor is amazing! The service was slow and adequate at best. Our server and a few other staff were more concerned with an employee's new baby than actually taking care of customers. Congrats to her, the baby was beautiful but we wasted $75 and an hour for our drinks from the bar to come out after 20+ min, extremely small portion of Mac & cheese with kids' quesadilla that sat under a heat lamp so long it had hardened and my daughter wouldn't eat it. The server joked that she must have eaten the middle but there was no middle! I ordered the chuychanga which would've been ok but it had a pile of green onions in the middle which wasn't on the menu. I ordered a dish that didn't have onions because I hate them. It was also a 12inch tortilla with maybe 3 inches of filling. The queso sauce had a skin formed because it took so long to be brought out. Once again, unnoticed by the server that I was performing surgery to remove onions to try to eat some of my $10.99 plate that I was charged $11.99 for. My daughter never received the refill of water she asked for even though we were right next to the server's station. Had to ask another server for a box and the famous grande margarita that costs nearly $10 was anything but Grande except for the amount of sugar in it. Maybe if someone had attempted to pay attention and offer any type of resolution it would've been different but I highly recommend the local Mexican restaurants for service and food over this place. 2 stars for the friendly greetings from the hostess and...
Read moreOh Chuy's. How I love you and your delicious tortillas. Haha!! Seriously though. The tortillas are amazing. The rest of the food is great too, especially the beans and rice, but the tortillas are next level. I have been to this Chuy's twice before with my husband and both times, we had a great experience. This time I brought my mom. We were quickly greeted and seated and ordered our food. We purchased the Elvis Memorial Special, which is like 3 enchiladas, a taco, tostada dipped in queso, and rice and beans. A LOT of food, right? Only 13.49! We knew that would be plenty for the two of us and we asked for a few tortillas on the side (because one must always order tortillas when at Chuy's). We were not mistaken. There was a TON of food. Once I saw how much there was, I could hardly believe how cheap it was! Now a farmer fresh out of the cornfields probably could have downed this thing easy, but for my mom and I, it was just the right amount of food for the both of us. We even had leftovers! From one meal! When we asked for our to go boxes, my mom also requested a bag to put our leftover chips in. (She can't waste food, so she takes them home and toasts them in the oven for a few minutes with the rest of her leftovers. Those chips taste even better than at the restaurant!) The waitress brought us a bag full of fresh chips to take home...how sweet! And when it came time to pay, she didn't charge us extra for the tortillas or the chips. Wow. Less than $15 for basically 4 meals. That's...
