I ate here 1 month ago and now I'm reviewing it after lots of thought and time to review my experience.

It is a shame that a piece of property in beautiful downtown St. Augustine with one of the most beautiful buildings on it is wasted on this poor excuse of a restaurant.

Upon entry I was happy to find a beautiful interior with such an old and authentic feeling. After several moments I realized that a large portion of that old feeling is dirt and grime. Oil fills the air and swats at your face and cloths because 2/3 of the menu is fried.

We were seated at a table and then the country rock music started blaring. I have no desire to have Jason Aldean yell at me about how country some girl is while I'm eating a plate of $8 onion rings with only 6 onion rings on it. We asked our server to turn the music down and she sat down at another table and must have forgot. Several agonizing and loud minutes later we asked her again and she said the speakers were broken. We ended up finding someone who is capable of producing coherent thought and he turned down the music.

The two of us had several questions about the menu and our server was of no help. Here is part of our conversation. Me* I'm torn between the chicken Caesar salad and the Scallops, can you recommend one of them? Server* Well do you want to taste chicken or do you want to taste scallops? Me* Well I'm not sure, how are the scallops prepared? Server* they are cooked.

I went with the chicken salad and it was pitiful. 0 flavor, soggy lettuce, microwaved chicken, watered down dressing, and no parmesan cheese.

My guest got the Philly cheese steak sandwich and was served "food" of similar quality. No flavor, small portions, expensive for what you get, and full of silver skin that should have been cut off the beef before it was cooked but was not.

No amount of Tabasco could help us.

When I got home my stomach was churning and you know what happened.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I will...

Scarlett O'Hara's and our experience. We were visiting St. Augustine for my wife's birthday. We first had to find parking. Lame. Next, we went on a Ghost Tour, unseasonably warm, a walking tour, and kinda lame. Then, we walked around St. Augustine, ridiculous. St. Patrick's Day weekend and a bunch of rude people. Either bumping into people in our party of 6 or just walking in between us. The other problem is that the restaurants were closing early or weren't very accommodating. That's a piss-poor way to run a business in a tourist town. We stopped in at the Scarlett O'Hara. We sat down. There were 3 bartenders in the main house. None of those 3 came to greet us or acknowledge us. Everyone at our party was trying to figure out what was going on? I had enough. I got up and went to the bar. I asked if the kitchen was open? The female bartender said yes. She gave me this limited menu. No ribs. No BBQ. No Mahi sandwich. No Scarlett's famous crispy wings. No Rhett's Burger. The limited menu consisted of the following: chips and salsa. Nachos steak or chicken, overcooked and very plain. Cuban sandwich, which looked awful. Philly sandwich steak or chicken, I'm sure, was even worse. There were 3 bartenders or 3 people behind the bar, not one who brought out the first or second round of drinks. We had to get the drinks. The bartender did bring out the food, surprisingly, and a couple of drinks before we left. However, before we left, they screwed up a Black Russian. I ordered Stella's, and the first few glasses were in plastic glasses!! The last glass was a pint glass, still not a Stella Artois glass!! The place was very busy. It was St. Patrick's Day weekend, eve to be succinct. This service wasn't acceptable at any rate. The live music was good, a little too loud for the distortion. Scarlett O'Hara's shut down in 2022. That was supposedly because of the "scamdemic." However, if Scarlett O'Hara continues to provide poor service, it will get...

TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!! we waited 10 minutes in a outside table and nobody attended us ... we entered to the dining area inside and we sat for 20 minutes and they did not attend us either, we asked the bartender who saw us enter and sit at the table in front of him (a young boy with cap and red hair/Sunday April 11 night) if we could order and he reluctantly told us we had to order with the bartender outside, not him! We had to go out ourselves and ask the bartender outside who, surprised, asked us WHY we couldn't order inside? so he sent us inside!

The two began to argue and after waiting almost 25 minutes we decided to stand up and go, they saw us living and neither one of them stop us! We passed rightin front of them and neither of them couldn’t say a single word! we left upset and hungry!

🚨🚨TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! 🚨🚨

BARTENDERS unwilling to serve people! ignoring customers! terrible experience! don't go to this place! the worst we had to walk into in St. Augustine! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!

🚨🚨WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! 🚨🚨

RED HAIR BARTENDER THE WORST BARTENDER EVER!

04/12/21 I do not need to talk to anyone... we were mistreated in your restaurant sir ... this was our first time in St. Augustine and our first part of our vacation 2021. I do not want anything in exchange of my opinion regarding our TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN YOUR RESTAURANT.

Your BARTENDERS WORKING NIGHT SHIFT SUNDAY APRIL 11th NEED TO BE RETRAINED.

I work in customer service and that is not the way you treat people at your restaurant.

EXTREMELY RUDE AND CARELESS EMPLOYEES! Nothing will change my mind! Thank you and you should consider RETRAINED THEM! Every customer count from the very first one at the opening until the very last...

So disappointed in what this has become. Tables are dangerously unsecured, holes in the floor, minimal service. So sad.

So..not a good experience. The manager was doing shots (to be fair, i saw only one.), our waitress had way too many tables. It took 30 mins to get a drink order and then 20 more to get said beverages. After another 20 mins, we ordered with some confusion about what they were out of and what the actually had. My husband had the bbq pork which he enjoyed. I had the fried chicken, which was not what i had 8 months ago. It was dry, not home made and the macaroni and cheese that was once homemade was kraft mac n cheese from the box. I know bc that was the only brand that my children would eat. My mashed potatoes were a mix of instant and real potatoes. I wanted to say it was bc of the hurricane and limited access to trucks and supplies, but it has been 3 weeks so that doesn't float water with me. I have wanted the fried chicken and raved to my friends in S. Daytona about how incredible it is and disappointingly, tonight was more like a Hungry Man tv dinner, only with kraft box macaroni. I hope, the owners find a better way to run this once incredible restaurant and bring it back to what it was a short 8 months ago.
