Okay. cracks knuckles Oh sweet Stewby’s. Y’all. We went for lunch and there was a line when we walked in, but it was soooo worth a short 20-min wait from walking in to getting our food. The gentleman who took our order was a southern sweetheart, and the food was just the best. My husband and I are super into casual atmospheres and good cookin’ and this place FITS. THE. BILL. Just stop reading my review and go. Savor every bite.
If you want to keep reading this as you make your way over, first off, know that the sweet teas are huge and perfectly brewed, and we got free refills as we walked out. Practically a gallon of tea between the four cups total we got to enjoy. I heartily devoured the fried shrimp dinner with baked beans and coleslaw (I’m particular about my slaw and this was great slaw) The shrimp is tender and cooked to perfection. The batter on the shrimp is simply the best—not too much, not too little, stays on the shrimp, and super tasty. The baked beans were sweet, unique, and truly delightful. My husband ordered the fried fish of the day (Mahi Mahi) with collard greens (to die for) and cheese grits (very yummy). Don’t get me started on the hushpuppies, which were so flavorful and not your standard dry hushpuppies but instead succulent and divine.
We basically skipped out of the restaurant. It not only filled our tummies but also our souls. We usually only say grace and thank the Lord before every meal but we thanked the Lord before, during, AND after this one.
PS: Stewby’s, we are willing to be unpaid actors for your commercials. Just give us a meal and we will scream your name from the rooftops. God bless y’all for creating such a fabulous restaurant to brighten the lives of the...
Read moreHey there fellow foodies! I had to share my recent dining experience in Destin – it was beyond incredible! Let me tell you about this hidden gem of a restaurant that offers the best seafood in the whole area – seriously, I can't recommend it enough, and I'd give it 10000000000 stars if I could!
Okay, first things first – their snow crab legs were an absolute showstopper! Cooked to perfection, the crab meat was so tender and flavorful, and the dish came with a delightful mix of corn, potatoes, and sausage, making it a truly hearty and satisfying meal.
Oh, and my wife tried their gumbo, and she loved it! She rated it 9/10, and I could see why – the spices and flavors were spot-on, creating a perfect balance.
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that they are a family-friendly place, with a fantastic kids' menu to keep the little ones happy and well-fed.
The best part? The prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and high-quality ingredients. It felt like we were dining like royalty without breaking the bank!
And guess what? I couldn't resist ordering a side of fried calamari, and it paired perfectly with the snow crab legs. The crispy, golden calamari rings added a delightful contrast to the tender crab meat.
Oh, and one more thing you shouldn't miss – they have a delectable "peel and eat shrimp" plate available ala carte, and it comes with crispy chips. Yum!
So, there you have it, my friends – if you're in Destin and craving some top-notch seafood, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. Trust me, you won't be disappointed....
Read moreI was driving over from Pensacola and I stopped at a public supermarket to get some tanning lotion before enjoying the beach and I asked them where I could get a great fish sandwich and the employee got really excited, rubbing her hands together and said I’ll tell you exactly where to go and they recommended this location. Having been a restaurant owner and operator for over 40 years and having ran great restaurants I look for excellence in restaurants where I eat. I found this concept to be top-notch people, the staff was friendly, everyone had name tags on their shirts, & the restaurant was clean. They were having fun which is the number one indicator of a restaurant to me, along with the other things I just mentioned. My food was excellent, a mahi-mahi grilled fish sandwich along with some fries and a piece of the Keylime pie. The only two criticisms that I have is the fish portion needs to be larger. I’m sure it’s been scaled down because of inflation, but hopefully as the economy improves, the size of the fish will improve and you need to change your Flag out front as it is tattered and old glory needs to be waving in the wind and in it’s top condition. I highly recommend this place and appreciate the job you guys are doing and giving confidence to customers to come and eat. I parked across the street went to the beach for a few hours and when I was leaving the line to get in for dinner was out the door… A key indicator that people want to eat here. If you’re in this area go give them a try. you won’t be disappointed....
