Like so many places, hibachi has taken over. If you’re into loud families on their one night a week out, this is your place. If you want a nice place to just enjoy good sushi… this ain’t it. Several points make this glaringly obvious.
The sushi is definitely not fresh anymore. It’s obvious the management is catering to hibachi, and the sushi has suffered. To the point they’re even adding hibachi tables on the sushi side. Just make it all hibachi and sell out all the way, cause that’s where you’re going anyway.
It’s loud. Very loud. So you can’t hear conversation at the sushi tables loud. For anyone not looking to just easily entertain kids, it just can’t worth it.
The nail in the coffin? They charge a 15% automatic gratitude on ALL tables, not just big tops. That’s the kibach for me. I typically tip 15-20%; so not only did you gip your servers, but you also made sure any serious diner ain’t coming back, EVER! And telling me it’s posted on the front door just pusses me off. I’m not saying you can’t LEGALLY do that; I’m saying you just killed your restaurant by telling me to take it up with management like I just got stuck with a lemon used car! Auto gratuity is the death knell to any restaurant. Once the word is out, this place will go down like the Titanic.
Sorry, Ichiban… but you lost me at mandatory...
Read moreHey there , i walked in because i was getting ready to order a take out order . When i walked in i was greeted with a young man who gave me a menu when he asked did i need a menu . I politely said yes and walked over to the counter and said hey I’m a little alarmed , but I’m a playing manner and asked about the shrimp tempura rolls and one said 15$ and the other online said 9$ . The price was not the issue
The issue i had was , the lady at the bar had a nasty attitude and treated me like i was a piece of trash on the floor . Threw a menu at me and said , because you’re looking at the specialty rolls that’s why the price is different … as she last in told me the price i paid it no issues…
When i walk be an in the restaurant after 20 mins of me and my wife shopping in Kroger . Came back in a happy mood with my mask on . The lady ran over to the sushi bar and simply had a gentleman that could not speak a word of English give me my order..and i heard the conversation..
He’s back in the store when i literally was. Friendly j will be contacting the franchise and the manger of the restaurant to file a complaint this doesn’t make sense . And i wouldn’t even harm a fly .
This will be my last time ordering a to go order and walking in this restaurant….. highly upset . After i spent my hard earned...
Read moreFirst of all if you want to call ahead (I called 1 1/2 hours ahead) they say they will put you on the waiting list but it does absolutely nothing for your wait time when you show up. The hostess was very rude and acted like we were an inconvenience. The chef was great! Very nice and helped us with needs that the waitresses were supposed to do. In the middle of eating dinner my son got gum on his leg and shirt from under the table where you eat! That means they don’t ever clean under the tables! We told someone and she rolled her eyes at us, didn’t say sorry or anything and then gave us a single dry napkin! Like that’s guna help with sticky gum! So we told them that the gum ruined my sons shirt and they just said they are guna try and make sure it doesn’t happen in the future. Lastly they have a tip already added to your bill and then after they charge your card they give amounts you can tip extra, both my husband and my dad wrote 0 for the additional tip and they charged our cards the additional tip anyway!! So ruined shirt, nice chef, good food, mean hostess and stealing our money! Take what you want from this I just needed to share my experience. Also the picture of my sons shirt with the gum is attached (it was way...
