I couldn't be angrier. My Mom is in her 70s. An employee COMPLETELY took advantage of her. So it started because she seemed to have a virus or something on her phone. I suggested she take it to Verizon and ask them if they could fix it. She dropped me off at an appointment and went in Verizon. As I was getting done with my appointment I get a text from a Verizon employee saying my Mom left her phone. When I told her I appreciated her informing me (even though she used a name nowhere near what my Mom's is) and she'd be up there to get it as soon as she picked me up from down the road - she got angry. She told me my Mom only said she went back home to get her purse, and that it was tying them up with their register holding the transaction. She basically told me we need to hurry up because it's causing issues and the register will "time out".
My Mom only wanted her phone fixed. All BRANDY had to say was "sorry we cant do that", but instead she sensed my mom's anxious nature and aging cognitive abilities and saw nothing but dollar signs. She sold my mom a brand new galaxy, lied and told her it would only add on $5 a month, but she's actually being charged $37 a month for it. They also added on a pointless extra line/number which they never mentioned to her. She had no idea until she saw her bill ... $50! For an extra number she doesn't even use!! When my Mom needed to sign papers, this manipulator just said it was an agreement that they went over everything, brushing it off like it was nothing important when they KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING!!!!
My Mom has called and tried to have this rectified but they aren't interested in having a conscience or any morals.
This profiteering woman even told my Mom to go home, transfer her data , and come back the next day to bring her the phone - but guess what? She wasn't there!!! Shocking!!!
I understand working a sales job and wanting to make the most from a customer, but at what point do you draw the line? My Mom is not a genius in her 70s. She is already very nervous when she has to go out in public and interact. and she clams up. Very VISIBLY nervous. She gets shy and stumbles and will do things without thinking just to get out of what to her - is a scary situation. This was obvious to Miss Brandy and she knew she could tack on whatever charges she wanted and could get away with. She had no right getting an attitude with me through text because my Mom didn't mention picking me up. I'm only writing this public review because she has called and they didn't care. They pretended to, but told her to go BACK to the SAME store and THE VERY SAME PEOPLE WHO RIPPED HER OFF would fix it. Yeah, no. Again. I get wanting to sell. It's your job. But dont take advantage of people's insecurities and disadvantages to do it. They could have done anything but what they did. Recommend a different "new" phone. Recommend some other kind of trade. Just say you cant fix it and be honest about what you can do and present options.
So after 16 years with Verizon we are looking for a different carrier. Part of me feels bad for namedropping this employee, but I cant think of any situation where what she did was excusable. Goodbye Verizon, and FWIW - maybe don't come in this store if you are a senior citizen, disabled, cognitively disadvantaged, or not knowledgeable about cellphones. You may just get played and squeezed for all you are worth and treated...
Read moreOut of about 7 visits in two years they have only had ONE item in stock and available. I have no clue why I kept going there but only because it was on my path home from work and I was hoping to get lucky for convenience than having to go online. Speaking of which, this past weekend when my phone died and I went there to only discover as typical nothing in stock or available after getting prices and timeline for this Verizon to order one I nailed down why I will never need to go there again. I ordered online and got a phone overnighted, I got their best deal on accessories for $29 cheaper AND because I purchased accessories, the activation fee was waved. People wonder why local businesses close... It's because once we customers find everything is better online there is no reason to visit the brick and mortar stores. I will say this... The reason for two stars is because the people who work there always are good with knowledge and customer service. It's not their fault their store can't seem to...
Read moreWent into store and talked to a rep Saturday 7/18/2015 and was told he would give me $400 trade in on my old phone.. They didn't have the phone i wanted in stock.. Told me to call Back Monday.. I did, but he didn't return my call. I called again today and he sent me to voice mail. So i stopped by the store today.. The i wanted was in stock.. I asked so we are good on trade in etc.. He said yes.. so i went ahead and did a hard reset/erase data on my phone before turning it in.. 5 min later he said oh the trade in value on the phone is only $145... The day he told me i could trade my phone in i said no, because I could sell it more on ebay he said no you won't get $400 online for it like i will give you.. I asked for a manager.. If course she said oh you mistaken as our reps know how to go into the system and see what a phone is worth... Needless to say the rep lied to me... Thanks for nothing Aubrey, will not be doing any future business with you or that...
