With only 8 customers and no line, I ordered a chai tea latte, Mediterranean pasta bowl and bread pudding. After getting water and finding a seat the cashier brought me my chai tea in about 10 min. Then I watched as she removed her apron and went to the back. About another 15 min went by and as I stood up to inquire I saw her come back to the front register. She then must of realized my bread pudding was done being warmed and brought it to me. I said to her that I had not received my food yet. She said rudely ”you should have. ” I said but I didn’t and as she turned I said I would like another chai tea and she said she couldn’t. I was headed to the register to pay when she said that. I can only think she thought I was asking for a free refill but she should have asked me and not assumed. This was the 2nd rude thing. I saw her ask another employee about my pasta and the employee pointed to the register area. She then came back with my bowl and preceded to tell me that since I didn’t request to have my food brought out in order that she waited to bring it out together. I said, if that was even true then why did you bring out the dessert first and looked confused when so said I didn’t have my food yet. She then said well here it is now. I said a simple apology for the mistake is all that was needed. She said but I didn’t make a mistake. I asked her to leave me to my food after that. I then asked the other employee for to go boxes as I did not want to eat there. That is also a reminder to not leave a tip till after you eat and get served. Before leaving another employee walked by and I asked if I could leave a complaint. She said I could tell her since she was the mgr. I explained what happened and she agreed that a premade pasta should have come out right away while the warmed up bread pudding would take about 15 min. She also gave an excuse for the cashier’s behavior that she might not have been unaware of how she said things. That may be true but she lied and tried to blame it on me. I think it is a fairly consistent standard in the industry that you don’t bring out the dessert while one waits for their food unless specifically requested. Especially if the food is already made while the dessert takes 15 min to warm. The mgr did not give an apology just said she would speak to the employee. Making it right would have asked the employee to apologize and the mgr would at least have apologized for her. The mgr should also have tefunded at least part of my meal. $37 for a snack of a meal was over the top but to get such crappy service pushed...
Read moreThis place is awful and unorganized. They ruined our daughter's first birthday cake. Our daughter's party was on a Saturday at 2pm. We were told her cakes would be ready by noon. We get there at 1pm thinking we would just get in and out but it wasn't finished! We sat there waiting for over 30 minutes while the employees messed with the edible letters. They gave us the cake with three of the four letters. The other missing letter they gave to us in a plastic container because it was broken. Yes, you read that right. BROKEN. These fools actually had nerve to hand us a sloppy unfinished cake and then charge our card for it. Luckily we were able to glue the letter back together to insert it into the cake but it didn't look good at all. The glitter was missing and you could see the cracks in it. The cakes tasted horribly. We were so embarrassed. They both had this awful bland coconut taste even though they were supposed to be a simple vanilla and a simple chocolate. Our daughter smashed her cake in her high chair and when she tasted it I could tell she was not enjoying it. We tried to get her to keep eating it but she shook her head no repeatedly. We ended up throwing out both of them because our families didn't eat any. We discussed making her first cake ourselves and we strongly wish we had listened to our gut and done that. Betty Crocker tastes way better than whatever garbage we were given. Karen's Bakery, you truly...
Read moreFriendly staff, nice indoor/outdoor seating, food was just ok. It says something when the bowl of fruit was more exciting than the entrees.
Stopped by on a Saturday around 11am and this place was slammed — line going out the door kind of busy. (TIP: Figure out what you want to order and then send someone from your group to go snag a table while waiting in line.)
The Broccoli & White Cheddar Quiche had a strange crust — chewy rather than flaky. It needed a hit of salt and pepper to give it some flavor. Would not order again.
The Grilled Chorizo Breakfast Burrito reads beautifully on the menu but eating it was a different experience. For about 3/4 of the burrito everything had the same soft, almost minced texture until you come across some nice chunky potatoes. Sliced grilled chorizo sausage might solve the texture issue. It was filling but could also use some seasoning to give it more layers of flavor - fresh chopped parsley or cilantro would help. At $17.50 it did not hold up.
With how popular they were and the high ratings we may have just picked the wrong items on the menu? Next time we will try some of their...
