My first job was working at the local donut shop in the town I grew up in. It was as hometown as you can get (the building was a gas station before it became the Holly Donut Shop). That donut shop is still in business to this day after opening in the mid 70s. The reason I mention that is that Jeff's Donuts kind of reminds me of the Holly Donut Shop.
On a Saturday afternoon my wife and I had lunch at Jersey Mike's and headed out the door and when we did I looked back and saw the "Jeff's Donuts" sign. It caught me totally by surprise! (I didn't even see it when we went in...then again Jim as hangry and the only thing on his mind was getting food.) I said to wifey "Hey, you wanna try out a new donut shop?" and she said "SURE!".
We walked in the door and were greeted by that Donut Shop smell.
Some businesses have very distinct smells. Churches, Hardware stores, Flower Shops are some of those. Donut Shops, too, have their own delicious smell as well. As soon as I smelled it I was taken back to my days at Holly Donuts.
Behind and below the counters are various types of donuts: Powdered, glazed, chocolate covered, sprinkles, and just plain. A great variety of donuts, alllll asking me to take them home. In the corner is a cooler with a variety of soft drink (milks, soda, juice, and water).
My wife made a beeline to a powdered sugar donut and I went to the chocolate covered custard. While one of the staff members bagged our purchase and rang us up we asked how long they'd been opened and we were genuinely surprised when they said they opened in December, '22. We had no idea!
A few minutes later we were enjoying what I'm suddenly going to call "The desserts you didn't know you wanted". It's been a very long time since I had a chocolate covered custard donut, and it was PHENOMENAL. Not jut because it tasted good, but because it tasted like a part of my childhood as well.
Did I mention they're open 24/7? That could be a dangerous thing, having fresh donuts that close...
Read moreHorrible service before and after I found hair in my donuts. The donuts felt old and tasted stale too. The clerk behind the desk was rude, condescending, and put up a fight over my refund. We bit into our donuts and found some hair. We brought the donuts back and I had my receipt and politely asked for a refund after waiting for a few minutes with no clerk behind the counter. The clerk came forward after another gentleman entered and she had to call her boss for help, but get this-- she dropped her phone with her boss in the middle of our transaction, to help the gentleman who entered a few minutes behind me! I asked her why she's doing that and her excuse was a very loud and rude, "I have to ask my boss how to do it!" I told her that that's okay, but what isn't okay is cutting one process off to help another person in the middle of it. She rolled her eyes and then finished with me. I thanked her for the refund and left. Overall though, horrible experience and very nasty donuts. Avoid at all costs. Hair in your food...
Read moreIf there was a zero star option I would honestly give. Today at Saturday 9/13/25 me and my brother came to try the donuts from here for the first time Becuase I heard some people say that it’s a good place to get donuts. And then right when we got inside their store a white dude kinda tall musty hair was giving us attitude literally right when we got there and we called him out for it we said “is there a problem” and ofc he doesn’t have the courage or be a man enough to say it to our face. First second we stepped in, there he was so rude and had an attitude at the first Second when we stepped in we didn’t even say anything Then he went back in while we were just choosing and then he came back at us saying " just choose like he trying to get rid of us in very disrespectful way, and then afterwards we just left without even trying their donuts. Will never go back. WILL...
