A staple of Fort Collins. A truly local establishment that's been combining relatively average ingredients into satisfactory burritos for drunk adolescents for decades now. You can tell which "local guides" are not actually locals on here too. If they complain about how "dirty" Big City is they aren't a local. Its looked just as dirty for well over 20 years now and no one is getting sick so suck it up buttercup. Back in the day they used to smoke cigarettes right out the back door while they were cooking and we're all still alive. If it wasn't a little dirty it wouldn't taste as good. Now, if they say Big City is the best burrito in town they are also not a local. Look, the burritos are bomb but unless you dont own a car there's plenty of good burrito joints worth attending, so let's not go blowing things out of proportion. This particular burrito joint does happen to serve potato burritos on spinach tortillas with black beans, corn salsa, and two lines of ranch though. It's not a life changing event but its pretty amazing when you're a drunk 18 year old with only $10 and an hour before class... at highschool. If they give Big City less than 5 stars they're either a pansy or they aren't a local. You give Big City 5 stars out of respect and sympathy. Is it really a 5 star meal? Of course not but thats not the point. They deserve 5 stars for having successfully served literally hundreds of thousands of burritos year after year to the most obnoxious people on earth: College Kids - that unparalleled commitment combined with reliably average taste, above average portions, and perhaps less than desirable sanitation has permanently enshrined Big City into Fort Collins folklore, and has resulted in the affectionate rebranding of this burrito hot spot by true locals to what is undoubtedly a more accurate name: "Big Sh!tty" - we'd be truly lost without you. No seriously we'd be so drunk we couldn't...
Read moreI went inside the Big City Burrito Loveland location on 6/8/2020 around late 5ish early 6ish pm to get queso and chips. Immediately I noticed a short, fairly young looking guy loudly talking on the phone. He hurried to the back to get out of sight. He didn't say I will be with you shortly just a quick dash to the back. Ok. Shortly after I arrived a couple walked in and waited off to the side while I stood up front since I came in first. The employee decided he needed to assist customers so he came upfront to take orders. He didn't look like he wanted to be at work. He looked directly at the couple in the corner and asked them "how can he help them", even though he saw me come in first and I was standing right in front of his face waiting to give him my order, he didn't even give me eye contact. I guess I was invisible. Very rude! The couple looked uncomfortable. I spoke up and told him that I'd like queso and chips and that would be it. He got my order together and gave it to me. The money and food exchange was decent. I took my food and left. When I sat down in the car and opened my queso to get a taste I tasted it and it was COLD! Last straw! OK...OWNER(S) of this location please train your employees on good customer service and heating up queso. Acknowledging customers is important and making them feel like their service is wanted is just as important. Warm and or hot queso is acceptable but not completely cold queso with cheese dripping off the sides of the container. Also the bottles of hot sauces displayed at the ordering line need to be thrown away and replaced with fresh bottles, they look disgusting. I will not be going back to the Loveland location and I will tell others to bypass it and go to the Fort Collins location instead. I got MUCH better service at the location in Fort Collins a couple of days ago and the queso was nice and hot and the...
Read moreTried Fort Collins Big City today for the first time and was sorely disappointed. I have eaten at Big City in Loveland for years and it is by far superior employees and food taste. Multiple staff members started my experience with a sour attitude and disgruntled behavior as if she was annoyed with my presence making it extremely uncomfortable to share my order. The music playing in the background was full of profanity so I would not recommend this as any kind of family establishment. Typically I prefer my food to smell like the ingredients I ordered and not marijuana. The food at the Fort Collins location is completely different. I wouldn't even know it was the Big City I have grown to love because it is a very different flavor. The potatos were undercooked, ranch tasted like buttermilk, strawberry habanero was super bland and without flavor. I will ONLY eat at the Loveland location where they haven't figured out how to ruined a burrito yet. I know that both Fort Collins and Loveland locations have recently been bought by one owner. I just hope the new owner doesn't change Lovelands Big City's ingredients and flavor. Even though I live in Fort Collins, I will make the drive to have way better tasting food...
