Tonight, we decided to eat out for the first time in quite a while. We were excited to go back to Los Tarascos, which we have frequented for the last 10 years at least for family dinners and date nights. We had a group of 7, with 4 adults and three children (8 yo, 2yo, 1yo.). We arrived and were seated in their back area by the bar and kitchen. This booth was perfect given our larger party and children.
We ordered drinks, then shortly after ordered dinner. Dinner took a bit to get out, no biggie. Kids were loud but nothing abnormal or anything more than I would expect. We were away from most of the patrons and didn’t feel we were out of line.
Our dinner was delivered, the group ate and we were enjoying the end our dinner when the “manager” approached me and said, “we have had multiple noise complaints about your children.” I felt as though we had been discriminated against because of our children at this point but took it in stride and asked for our check. Meanwhile, they had tabled a large party of young adults next to us that were loudly speaking cuss words and specifically the F word.
We paid and expressed our sincere concern with the service provided. I am truly sad to say we will not be back after the concern expressed regarding our children. Kids will be louder than expected at times. One time during the dinner another child screeched out and we joked that it was part of our party at a different table. I did attempt to discuss our concerns with a manager and the concerns were unheard and dismissed.
Please note we feel Los Tarascos was a great place for your family to get dinner, but now, if you intend to take children to this restaurant you might be asked to leave because of them. It will not be tolerated and you will be asked to change your children’s volume level and ultimately leave. We are deeply saddened by our loss of great restaurant to include La Buena Vida to go to but can’t keep going to a restaurant that won’t...
Read moreI usually love this place. The food is so incredibly delicious. However, today was such an awful experience. We were seated immediately- my husband and I. We sat there for 15 min and finally the server comes to our table with chips and water- he then took our order since we were ready. I ordered a soda I never got- not a big deal, however he never came to our table until the food was ready. We asked for more chips when he came to the table with the food… the server (who’s name I do not have- he never introduced himself) then got chips for all his other tables and not ours. I watched him walk to 4 other tables and give them chips. I never was able to even wave my hand to get him to come to us. He went to the table that was directly next to us many times and ignored us completely. I counted how many times he would check on them since he seemed to chat with them and converse a lot- he went to their table 6 times and not once came to ours and never even refilled our chips. We even ordered guac app (which is $11) and didn’t even get to enjoy it. We sat and waited for maybe 10 min after we finished eating until he came to bring us the bill. We then noticed for the birria tacos- my husband ordered 2 (for 1 it was 8$ if you got 2 it was $14- I don’t remember what the price was for 3 but it also was a deal) the server charged us for 2 as in $8 a piece. Which we didn’t even bother correcting him we just wanted to get out of there we were tired of waiting around. On top of that the music bass was blaring- the walls were nearly shaking. It was like an earthquake experience. It’s really hard to enjoy a lunch together when you’re completely ignored and then over charged- the waiter never even acknowledged that we were ignored or just completely neglected. This experience is really not making me want to come back - even though we have been some long time customers that have...
Read moreWe have been coming here since 2010, and it has always been our favorite Mexican restaurant. We would come eat here at least a couple of times a week and got to know many of the servers and watched the owners’ kids grow into the restaurant. The last two times we visited left much to be desired……the last server couldn’t understand English at all, and he messed up our order so terribly…he brought three sides of beans when we asked for one….we still left him a $15 tip for a $30 order because we know everyone has a bad day, but…I walked in today, Thursday, at 3:55. Happy hour starts at 4. She seated me and brought chips. I went to get salsa at the salsa bar and waited at my table. Finally, another girl shows up to take my order. Everything was fine until I got the ticket and saw she charged me $10 for one margarita and $5 for the other. I said they both should be on happy hour since I ordered at 4. Her snotty response was that the computer read that it was before 4 so they were going to charge extra. I said you need to let people know this because most people expect to get happy hour drinks at 4. This has never been an issue for us until today. The attitude was terrible, and the person in charge didn’t show any type of concern in dealing with the situation other than reversing the charge. The staff seems to be more interested in having conversations at the desk than taking care of their patrons. Doesn’t anyone care about keeping repeat clients anymore? This place has really gone downhill with their food quality and service. It’s sad to say, after all the years we supported this business, that it may be awhile or never if we return. There are too many great places to eat in Fort Collins that actually care about their repeat clients to be treated in...
