When it comes to this location, that place needs a serious overhaul. It should be shut down until everyone has been replaced/retrained. I came here to complain about the customer service, but after reading some of the other comments on tripadvisor, I doubt seriously that management or corporate care about what goes on there. It probably stems from the belief that they have a high traffic location and can afford to slack off on customer service. TBH if it wasn't for their location (which basically drives them traffic) I cant even imagine how this place would be able to stay open. Instead, ill use this post to warn others against spending their money here. Here's what happened to me yesterday. I was on my way back from PR & decided to spend the night with friends in Fort Lauderdale for no reason.Ā The next morning our flight out left pretty early & i'm a fan of Auntie Annie's pretzels in the morning. That was a recipe for disaster because had I known how bad this location was i'd have gone somewhere else in a heartbeat. Hopefully, this post helps other people avoid this dump. The smart mouthed cashier caused a fraud alert to be issued by my bank, USAA, when she tried to manually enter my card number. Instead of telling me anything useful, she loudly proclaimed my card had simply been declined for lack of funds. Me knowing better, I called the bank while my wife used cash to pay for these pretzels.Ā In one ear i was listening to this rude and loud cashier yell at me that "It was impossible for me to have been charged because no receipt had been printed," my USAA rep was in my other ear explaining to me that there was, in fact, a pending charge from that location and they suspected someone had attempted to use my card without it physically being there. You know, it made rational sense because I was in PR the day before and now it seems as if someone in an international airport (that I originally departed from) in the states was possibly using a carbon copy. Never mind why Auntie Annie's has dated card machines that don't work but it would have been common sense to have a sign posted that read "CASH ONLY!" If I had known it would have been this much of a hassle, i'd have gone elsewhere. I'm sure they know that as well and would rather inconvenience passengers in order to make what little money they can, given the fact that their cashier's attitudes are doing everything they possibly can to deter sales.
I was advised to dispute the charge & show the cashier my mobile app so she could see that it was pending even though she was still loudly claiming that was impossible because she didn't have a receipt. When I did show her the proof she snapped at me, "What exactly am I supposed to be looking at? It doesn't even matter if it's pending, i've done this dozens of times and i know your little 11 dollars will bounce right back but since you wanted a manager ill go get one just for you."
Twenty minutes later the manager shows up & doesn't know anything about anything because she just got hired anyway. Great. She never once apologized for the unprofessional behavior of the cashier, nor did she seem too concerned that I was momentarily stranded in the airport until USAA was satisfied by taking me through a "verification of charges" process, before they would reactivate my card. My plane was about to board so it let it go there, knowing I was going to write this review later. The chances of me eating at that location again are even slimmer than their mgmt reading this review & lifting a finger to do anything about it. I wrote this for others who want to avoid having a trip ruined by something like this. Frequent travelers know what can happen when a simple thing like a bank dispute occurs while you're rushing through an international airport during a connecting flight. This is that place, Auntie Annies in Fort Lauderdale's Airport will ruin your trip. Avoid them bc you can fix a card reader but you can't fix terrible customer service, especially from empoyees like the one I had the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Auntie Anneās on Sunrise in the Galleria Mall is the best Auntie Anneās in the area by farrrr! You know how with chains, thereās always the āgood oneā? Well- this particular store is the āgood oneā. Their pretzels are consistently perfectly made, they donāt burn them, they are too thin, they season them well. I order ubereats from that location at least twice a week: 2 regular pretzels and 2 cinnamon sugar pretzels, and they almost never let me down. Iāve had the Auntie Anneās in Oakland Park at the mall by the Target, and that one is terrible. That one often doesnāt even have pretzels made, and when they do, they are burned or stale. If you are in the mood for a yummy pretzel- hit the Auntie Anneās in the...
