I'm in the middle. The smiling energetic faces that are fooling you are staff members, my latest victims. The guy in the back of the photo, is Alejandro who waited on me last May when I visited from Boston. At that particular lunch there was not an empty seat and a server called off leaving only Alejandro and some woman who has since left to go on to darker pastures. They worked effortlessly. Grace (not the server Gracie) under pressure. Last week I was in Fort Lauderdale and headed to Con Murphy my favorite restaurant. I was greeted by Kayla who possesses a unique gift in her personality of being sassy and charming at the same time. I told her I recognized her when I purchased a gift card and she had no earthly clue how to ring it up. I said, "well you're going to learn." She remembered me. LOL. I'm not sure what my favorite memory is here. It may have been with Adrian. I was craving chocolate. I could practically taste the lava cake as it was being prepared in the kitchen. I thought the sun would come up before I was ever going to see that cake. Adrian informed me with great trepidation that the lava had been 86'd. I had a reaction. I teased him, a fabulous professional. Once I was having eggs benedict for breakfast and Faith came to my table and asked me to move because a large party was coming in. I shot her a look as my utensils and I hesitantly traveled 20 feet ending up in a corner where I had claustrophobia served with home fries. The large party never came. It dwindled in size. I thought about dwindling Faith's gratuity. Manager Demetrius once practically ran an obstacle course through the entire restaurant to present my blonde brownie with whipped cream as the cream was definitely experiencing climate warming dripping onto my sandals. Excellent but it did not quench the chocolate craving. Then there is Alex, a bartender who supplied the greatest laugh. One night I was having the barbecue wings that serve up the best barbecue sauce in all of Florida as far as I'm concerned (although I've never been to Tallahassee so I may be jumping the gun). Bree was serving me and could not have been more pleasant with great recommendations anticipating everything I needed. However my fingers were drenched in sauce and I went through so many napkins that the only thing left was the ocean across the street. A man sitting at a table behind me began a conversation with me informing me he was from New York. I told him I was from Boston and he had no idea where Boston is. Alex from behind the bar heard this conversation and she roared, "talk about denial New York, good God." Alex became my hero at that moment. I had not seen Alejandro all week however low and behold he showed up. Everything now will go right. But God had other plans. I was doing a talk to text with the microphone open. When Alejandro came to my table telling me the food would be out soon, (I had completely forgotten what I ordered at this point) we had a conversation involving his goals. The conversation lasted approximately 7 to 8 minutes. When he walked to go back to the kitchen to do God only knows what, I picked up my phone and saw that I had dictated the entire conversation. Everything from becoming an EMT to Adrian's missing lava cake, and the claustrophobic seating from Faith. LOL. I hope anyone who reads this review will easily surmise that they will make you feel like family here. This is not simply a job for these people. It is a passion with the highest value in customer relations. They truly care that you have a good experience and when they wish you to return, they really mean it. I thank Kayla, Faith, Bree, Alex, Alejandro, Gracie, Julie the general manager, Joelle, Adrian, Demetrius for whom I wish an extended happy birthday, and every employee in the back of the house of whom I did not have the pleasure to meet. You all mean the world to me and I think you know that. I have been living with brian cancer and you guys have impacted me with joy beyond measure making some of my difficulty less burdensome. I'm...

My spouse and me visited Con Murphy's on 4/19/2023, at approximately 12:54 pm to 2:51pm. The restaurant was not busy and the host set us promptly. The server came over, did not introduce herself, and ask us if she could start us off with some drinks. We later found out by the receipt that her name is Faith B. We ask her for a minute to look over the menu. She came back and we ordered our drink, to share because I was driving, and placed our food orders. I placed my order, then help my husband place his order because he does not like to talk because of his accent. She never repeated the order back to us, if she would have maybe it would have been different. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. My husband was not very hungry and only order the calamari and the Key Lime Pie. About 15 minutes later our very weak, watered down drink (I grew up in my grandfather's bar) was dropped off by another young lady, shortly after my husbands food was dropped off by another young man. My husband had all of his food setting on his side of the table, drink too. Then the same young man dropped off my husbands desserts, overly sweet key lime pie, nothing like it should be. Finally, after about 45 minutes Faith B. came back to the table to ask if there would be anything else. I asked her, very politely, how much longer it might be on my Philly cheesesteak sandwich. She then proceeded to tell me that I never placed an order for anything. I told her again very politely that I had placed an order for a Philly cheesesteak sandwich before helping my husband place his order. She looks at me to states again, you never placed an order. This went on back and forth, three times. Each time she got more aggressive, never apologizing for her mistake. After the third time I just turned around and looked at the ocean without saying anything. My husband ask if she could please bring me my food, as I was hungry and now very upset. It took another 15 minutes for her to come back and slam the plate on the table in front of me. At this point I was worry that she may have done something to my food, but it was fine, and I was very hungry. I thought, well she'll take it off the bill or give us half off on the sandwich or something. Nope full price on the bill for the very late sandwich. Then to top everything off. The restaurant added a 18% automatic gratuity to our bill. The server was tipped 18% for horrible, lousy, rude, despicable customer service! The sad thing is is that we looked at the reviews before we even went to the restaurant. I think they may be having their own people write all these five star reviews. Travelers beware, this is not a good place to...
Read moreWas there Thursday night, December 30. Decent size crowd. This is a combo sports bar/restaurant. There was live music that was actually pretty good but I failed to get the name of the entertainer who had a decent varied repertoire that included some of every genre. Of course tv monitors were showing the college bowl games.
I sat at the bar with my friend. The bartender arrived pretty quickly. I ordered a glass of wine and my friend ordered a "Painkiller", a common drink on a bar menu she says. She said that it was not good and did not taste like any she had gotten at any other bar (and she is a bar person).
To eat, I ordered loaded potato skins and she ordered fish tacos. The loaded potato skins were too dry but had adequate cheese and bacon but just overcooked. The fish tacos were not bad and I am not a seafood person. My friend was just not good because of the drink and did not drink it after tasting it.
Now as you can see, I have posted over 200 reviews during the past five years and I always try to be fair. The location and atmosphere of Con Murphy's is 🌟🌟🌟🌟. It is across the street from the infamous Fort Lauderdale Beach on A1A at the Beach Place Tower plaza. I thought the service was 🌟🌟🌟🌟 but my friend thought three stars at best because the bartender should have seen that she did not consume her drink, ask if there was a problem and comp her for the drink. I liked the entertainer so 🌟🌟🌟🌟. The food only gets 2 1/2🌟. It looks to be a popular place and would give Con's a second chance on my next trip to...
