We were very disappointed with our experience at LA Fuga.
After reading so many positive reviews and seeing the high ratings, we were genuinely looking forward to a quality meal. Unfortunately, the reality didnât meet our expectations.
My husband ordered the branzino, which was just okay â not terrible, but not impressive either. It came in small pieces, lacking the presentation and portion size weâre accustomed to.
I ordered the pappardelle pomodoro with veal meatballs. The menu advertised homemade pasta, and I specifically requested light sauce. What I received, however, was a dish drowning in sauce. When I sent it back to be corrected, the second version came out with about eight plain noodles and the sauce on the side â not at all what I had asked for. The pasta also clearly wasnât homemade; it resembled basic egg noodles rather than true pappardelle. Overall, the dish was very disappointing, and I felt like my concerns werenât taken seriously.
Adding to the poor experience was the setting. We had asked to sit outside, but were seated near a run-down patio with a neglected pool â it felt more like the backyard of a budget motel than a resort restaurant.
Service was also lacking. Although I made several requests to our waiter (light sauce, ice, more water), none of them were fulfilled. We ended up relying on another server, who was the only one that actually helped us.
For the price we paid, we would have been much better off taking an Uber to Las Olas and dining at ...
Read moreFrom start to finish, our evening at La Fuga in Fort Lauderdale Beach was nothing short of exceptional. The service was outstandingâwarm, attentive, and truly elevated the entire experience. You can tell the staff takes pride in making every guest feel welcomed and valued.
We began with cocktails that were perfectly crafted and set the tone for what would be a phenomenal meal. For dinner, I had the Risotto Cacio E Pepe AllâOsso Buco, and it was absolutely incredibleârich, comforting, and packed with flavor. My wife ordered the Cottoletta Alla Milanese, which was perfectly crisp and beautifully presented. My mother-in-law raved about the sea bass, which was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection, while my father-in-law had the Dentice Alla Genovese, which was another showstopper. Every bite was a testament to the kitchenâs skill and attention to detail.
We capped off the meal with the flourless chocolate cake and the tiramisu, both of which were decadent and delicious. And the homemade limoncello? Wowâbright, smooth, and the perfect digestif.
As if that werenât enough, we headed up to the rooftop bar afterward, where we enjoyed another round of cocktails while taking in a stunning sunset view over the canal. It was the perfect end to a perfect night.
La Fuga is a gem on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Whether youâre a local or visiting, this place is a must. We canât wait...
Read moreThis review is a little delayed, but Iâm very happy to now share my experience at La Fuga. I visited Fort Lauderdale for the first time, traveling from Seattle in early to mid September for a work symposium, and stayed an additional 5 nights for vacation with my boyfriend. On September 10th we were happy to find la Fuga online, walkable from our hotel. When we walked in we were greeted by their bartender Steven, who was so kind and friendly, happy we were there. Steven ended up being our server as well. Our dishes were so delicious, and we were having such a great time, we decided we should come back for my boyfriendâs birthday 2 days later. We knew it would be perfect and it was. Steven treated us like friends, and he went out of his way to be our server again. He knew it was my boyfriend Steveâs birthday, and he went above and beyond to make it special. We had their specialty scallops dish that was cooked to perfection, kind of crunchy on the outside but tender on the inside served on a bed of mashed celery đ⌠the best scallops we both had ever had! After dinner, Steven brought out champagne, and a chocolate tart topped with raspberries, swirled with âHappy Birthdayâ chocolate sauce with a candle. See pics. La Fuga is a must if youâre ever visiting Fort Lauderdale or especially if you live there! Best food, best service from the entire team! I wish there was a la...
