Yo Mama's Ice Cream-We Make Our Own Ice Cream! — Restaurant in Fort Lauderdale

Wish I could review how the ice cream tastes, it sure looked good. But I stopped in here after going to the beach and thinking some ice cream sounded good and was immediately met with attitude by the girl behind the counter. I asked her what flavor one of the ice creams was because there was no label on it. I felt like it was clear which one I was pointing to (it was pink), but maybe it wasn't. In a snotty voice she said "vanilla?!?" And I responded "the pink one?" Her attitude got even worse and she said "well I have no idea where you're pointing when you do that! They all have labels!!" I responded that this one didn't. She didn't even care to find out what it was. She responded "I don't know??? Raspberry??" I am here on vacation and have never, ever (not where I live or where I've traveled) come across someone in customer service who was this blatantly rude to me. I walked out without ice cream and without saying anything else. I wasn't even mad, I was just sad that someone would treat a stranger like that when all I did was ask about an ice cream flavor at an ice cream shop. It was my first day in Ft Lauderdale and not a great greeting. I'm sure your ice cream is great, but might want to talk to your employees about the simple rule of being kind...

This ice cream restaurant is literally right behind the hotel I'm staying at during a work trip. Since I have a pathological desire to try the best ice cream or gelato in any area I find myself. I was intrigued, the 4.6 score on Google Maps wasn't quite at the level I usually respect. And after having a look inside I still wasn't convinced. Yet after a long walk during an exceedingly hot day, I convinced myself that it was worth a shot. Long story short, the ice cream quality is very poor. Similar to what you might find in a McDonald's. The flavours are utterly over the top and I didn't enjoy it.

That said I knew this place wasn't really for me so I feel bad giving it too low of a score.

The concept here is a massively over the top one where you pay by the ounce of ice cream and topping. I mean... when the emphasis is on the quantity of toppings over the quality of ice cream you know something is wrong. But there is a certain segment of customers who I'm sure love it.

I would not go back again and honestly I was annoyed at having wasted calories on it but if this sounds like your cup of tea you'd probably enjoy it and if so good...

After a wonderful night at the Moréa Yelp event we decided to go get ice cream for desert. They found this nearby and it was a 7 minute walk so we headed that way.

When we got there it wasn’t too crowded, but a small line. We checked out the menu. They had milkshakes, ice cream, and delicious flavored popcorn.

I was trying to decide between the Oh Dear and the Buttered Rum ice cream with roasted pecans and white chocolate chips. I chose the Oh Dear which was peanut butter ice cream with brownies, chocolate sauce and Reese’s pieces. I got 1 come in a waffle cone and it was so delicious.

As we waited for everyone to check out the last of the group weren’t able to get anything because they ran out of milk for milkshakes 😞.

Then in conversation, we learned from Melissa that if we did the google review we could get free popcorn so we headed back in to do this. This topped off the experience with the free caramel popcorn which my kids and I really enjoyed.

I learned there was a location near my home so I look forward to trying the other flavors of...
