Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Fort Worth

2024 update: Unfortunately, things have changed. My go-to safe dish is no more. I stopped by for lunch, last lunch of 2024! The salmon was undercooked with a slimy skin bottom, and the 'fresh steamed broccoli' was overcooked and mushy. I am so very disappointed because I was looking forward to this meal and had to push it away before to keep "things" down. I sat at the bar, so I ordered a Pain Killer just to be courteous but could hardly stay in the restaurant. I had hoped the bartender would ask if I wanted to speak with a manager ONLY for the purpose of no one else having a similar experience. I would hate for one of my favs to fall off that list and perhaps the cook or kitchen staff could improve a tad knowing that regulars certainly can tell the difference. My fingers are crossed that this was a one-off, and they will never send food like that out ever again. There was no way I was requesting a different meal from the same staff. I should have taken a picture, but then again, I would have needed a warning label. I sort of feel bad not sharing with someone who could potentially help (i.e., a manager), but hopefully, the bartender says something. I will reduce the stars but will give them another try and hopefully can update once again.

*(Initial Review Below) I frequent this location often, in doing so, I can say the service and quality of food is consistently great! I love salmon and the bourbon glazed, with sweet baby carrots, and broccoli, is my fav! The menu offers just enough variety to not be overwhelming and all reasonably priced, including the drinks (although they have gone up slightly, but most things have...except my salary).

Depending on the day/night the atmosphere is vibrant others it's chill. I'd recommend this...

We’re currently 0-2 on this location. The food has been fine, we always enjoy it. But the service has not been good both times. The first time, we were there over 2 hours, and it wasn’t busy, pretty empty actually. They had too many people working apparently because there were employees sitting in a closed section, laying down on the booths. Had to ask the waiter 3x for a box that he never gave us.

This second time it was packed. Our waitress never came. We waited like 15 minutes before another waitress in a completely different area of the restaurant came over and got us drinks. She served us the whole time. our tables assigned waitress never came though. We ended up leaving pre maturely. We got our food and the waitress was gonna get us refills, but we never saw her again. We finished our food, and waited an additional 20 minutes before paying and leaving. I can’t really fault the waitress though because she was assigned to a whole different area than where we were at. She was just trying to be nice and help, but she had other tables and a big party. Was pretty disappointed because I wanted a dessert and a box. Ended up leaving with the extra croissants wrapped in a napkin because there was no way I was leaving those pieces of heaven behind.

The service seems to be fantastic for big parties though. We had 3 big parties by us the second time, and not one glass ever went empty.

We were regulars here, food always good, but Sunday we decided to take two frends with us that has not been there, but had heard service was bad by frends, I made the mistake by saying no it's good, then the girl came out to take order and she had trouble understanding, first with are drinks where three was tea, mine was limeade, two ordered chicken fried chicken, one tender basket, and the other something else. The one with tenders didn't get sauces, she had to ask again and then waited to long to get them. We started eating as we thought chicken fried chicken, after we got past the breading, which was a lot we seen chicken fried steak, took us a while to get her stopped, so when she did, she took back, the others were threw with there mile by the time we got ours, then to get the machine to pay our bill myself and the other person must have ate two meals, we were charged for two chicken fried steaks and two chicken fried chickens besides the other two people plates, asked for manager, then thay only took off one had to ask for manager again then finally the other was off, so we spent most are time in chedders, after church, and she didn't even understand are refills for the drinks, so we are no longer regulars, and the two we took will not be back, like I said food was good service a zero for us, if I use Chedders again I will go to another location not Burleson.
