Update I continue to go to Firehouse for my lunches when I am able to and I can say that it has improved. It is no longer hot or muggy in the store and the staff do seem happier. I never expected to have them throw a party when a customer walks in the door, but before I just always felt like I was inconveniencing them in some way just by being there. That is no longer the case. They are reasonably welcoming now and generally seem a bit more cheerful than before. :) Thank you for listening!
Sandwiches are great. Love the food and I will absolutely continue to eat there. Employees are not bad, but I dont particularly feel like they are happy to have me there. The kne and only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because EVERY single time I go in there, its uncomfortably hot inside. I work at the academy right behind it so I go there often for my lunch break. I'm also cold natured so I get cold easily, but its always hot in the restaurant. I was in today actually and I asked if there was a reason why they always keep it so warm in there. I was told the AC broke yesterday, but I said, I'm not talking about today. I mean all the time. Read moreI usually order about twice a week primarily from the app. Four out the past five times the experience has been less than spectacular. The staff forgot to check the printer for my order summary two times and had to wait 10-15 minutes past the order due time.
This afternoon , I waited 40 minutes for the order after submitting it on the app. When I stopped in, the young lady behind counter said that they were still making my order. After about 10 minuevwait, I stepped back up to the counter and asked the young man with a beard if my order was ready. He looked at me and in a stern voice said “ not yet”.
Another ten minutes passed by ( 5 other orders were filled)and I stepped up to the counter once again. I asked if my order was ready. The young lady that I initially spoke to, gestured to the “not yet” employee that she believed that my order was done and it was just sitting on the counter.
He said “oops” and handed me the bag and apologized that he thought that I had ordered from the counter and that I basically had to wait my turn. He apologized once again after I reminded him about his “ not yet comment”.
When I got home, the subs were cold and the salad was just a big bowl of lettuce. There was no dressing as well.

Read more3/18/2021 I tried calling to place an order from 4pm until 5:30, no one would answer the phone. I arrived there in person to find six people working behind the counter. When one of them finally came to the counter to take my order I asked if their phones were working as I had been trying to call for 1 1/2 hours. He ignored the question and said I'm sorry you couldn't get through can I take your order. I said it wasn't because I could not get through the phone rang and rang you all did not answer. I ordered a kids grilled cheese, a club on a sub and a firehouse salad with grilled chicken. once I got home my grand daughter went to eat her grilled cheese and basically the bread was toasted but the butter and cheese were just slapped on there, not even the butter melted. I have pictures I would love to show the manager or owner. The salad had no cucumbers or peppers in it as the menu states it does and as for the chicken (ha) its safer to say I got a tossed salad. The club sub was excellent as that is what I always get and I was not disappointed in it. I go here several times a month, what is happening that the service and quality of food are going downhill?
