A couple months ago my husband and I stopped in and it was fantastic. We were coming pretty regular but we've been noticing things here just aren't right. More often the paper products in the women's restroom are not checked and refilled. I stopped in today and first thing I had to let someone know.
It isn't just paper but also sometimes cracker and bread sticks napkins etc. Last week it was pepper grinders, not a one to be found. The employees seem to be in on a thin schedule. When we first started coming there was a manager easily available, That guy seemed to care but he is gone I think. He was transferred from Houston area. He convinced me to try Newks again because I was very reluctant when it was what my husband wanted to eat. The same things I was telling him about why we quit coming to the location near our old house is happening again but at this store. Anyway I haven't seen him in a while. Maybe that is why it seems so downhill lately. The whole atmosphere is way off anymore. Tables dirty and unkept. Just not what we want to experience when putting down...
Read moreI have been traveling for work supporting numerous operations in the supply chain world. In some cases, I work odd hours such as 3pm-3am. When working this hours, I often find myself going to a gas station around 9pm-10pm to get dinner. I saw that Newks Eatery was open, but closing soon. Normally when I go to food places that are near close, the employees will roll their eyes, be irritated and sometimes even make rude comments. That is not the experience I got at Newks Eatery. I was welcomed by the staff on the shift and I want to call out Janessa specifically because this is the only the 2nd time I’ve ever been here. Both times, I was welcomed by Janessa. She helped me decipher the menu and assisted with me making a decision on what I should try. Read moreI placed an order online on a Sunday evening for a pickup an hour later. When we went to pick it up the 2 ladies there could not find my order and since I forgot my phone back home, I couldn't give them my order#, yet they couldn't look up my order by my name. They suggested that I make another order and pay for it and then get a refund later. So I went back home got the phone and at that time Mark was there and he surprisingly found my order without needing my order # and proceeded to process our order immediately and said he was comping my meal. I still show a charge on my card and have been told it will take 5-7 business days to remove. The 2 ladies that were there when we arrived the 1st time were not accommodating or friendly and acted like they didn't care. They put in no effort to give 5 star service.
