Not pleased at all. Used to be a great place to visit. Coffee this trip was marginal, as others have stated, go somewhere else or just pick Starbucks. After standing in line and ordering a drink, not a terrible experience. However while waiting for the drink to be made, I received an extremely rude attitude about having food in their store that was not purchased from “their” menu. Upon explanation “that’s a food violation”, which there wasn’t one or a friendly, appropriate, nice, customer service based response. It’s terrible what bad attitudes or bad customer service can do to a business. I feel bad for the owner. We used to recommend this to many friends, and tourists. However, we will not be doing so anymore. We may just be one family, but many will follow. If we received this attitude, I’m sure others have too. If you want to talk food violations, let’s talk about the pastries and other foods that are up on the counter in baking pans, uncovered, while people are coughing all over them. Or the staff wiping their noses on their hands or contaminating other baked goods without cleaning utensils. I’m only bringing this up because she could have come up with a kind response of, “we don’t allow outside food or beverage” instead of coming up with the absolute b.s. excuse and attitude like she did. I can’t say enough about this interaction. Y’all make your own decision, maybe you’ll have a good visit, or maybe you’ll receive the bad attitudes like we did. Maybe they just had a bad day, it happens. When you’re in the customer service business, you definitely can’t have too many...
Read moreMy friend and I visited this coffee shop this morning and when we stepped up to order we thought it was off putting that the two baristas behind the counter were more concerned with having their own conversation than taking our order. We waited for about a minute at the register, with one of the baristas literally standing behind the register chatting with her coworker and didn’t help us until her personal conversation had concluded. We then waited for our drinks and my friend received her right away but then my drink never came. I waited until all three of the other couples in the coffee shop had received their drinks before going up to the counter to see about my drink. I stood at the bar and waited, and waited, and waited… for one of the baristas to notice me (I was the only one at the front of the shop). But they continued to have their own personal conversation for three minutes and didn’t even speak to me until their conversation lagged. Turns out they were so preoccupied with gabbing that they had forgotten my drink entirely. The coffee was fine not great, the pastries are the same thing you could get at the grocery store. If the food and coffee had been better, I probably would have just ignored the horrible...
Read moreThis is a cool, comfortable coffee shop. Definitely worth a visit for a drink (caffeinated or boozy) and a chat with your bestie.
The day I visited, they happened to be very short-staffed. It resulted in the wrong drink being made for me. I noticed that things were HECTIC for them that day, and the drink was close enough, so I didn't make a deal out of it.
There are number of pastries for sale as well. We got a cinnamon roll and a muffin (from their day-old 50%-off plate, which I appreciate). The muffin did seem a bit under-done on the inside, but still good. Along with coffee drinks, they offer a bunch of cocktails, breakfast burritos, bagels, salads and sandwiches. The fridges stock energy drinks (which can be made into cocktails) and a few beer selections.
The atmosphere is very cool, kind of looks like an old library. There are big stuffed chairs and wooden tables for you. There is a lot of natural light streaming in from large windows. There are bookshelves filled with books (which are all for sale), and a homey mantel.
Are you in the mood for a mocha latte or a tipsy mocha? Either way, this comfy nook is...
