This place used to be a great spot. Its owned by vail resorts so you would think standards and quality stay consistent. The location is very convientent and they have a full bar. Its over priced for the quality of food. That staff is friendly, however the food was below par. I ordered $60 of food to-go. It was not busy and looked like 4 people in the kitchen. I got my food quickly however the only item that was hot was the tater tots. I ate the my food 2 minutes if less after recieving it. Gave an $8 tip for a to-go order.
I've cooked and eat at many restaurants and been in the industry for many years. The only thing that was decent was the side salad and tater tots, which is hard to mess up. The Gyro was dry cold and taziki sauce was not a sauce but more of a paste, I only ate half of it. The tacos were 2 tacos, small fiah portion and was not a slight bit hot. The rice that came with it was under cook, chewy and cold, seemed it was a few nights old. The black beens where cold as well. I only ate a few bites of both and threw this dish in the trash. There was no flavor and the single lime they gave me for the tacos was so dry and old that there wasnt even a drop of lime juice! As a cook i would thrown this out and cut fresh lime. 2 tacos = 2 limes!
The fries where not hot and a bit on the soggy side. Honestly it was dissapointing. Unless your starving, I would probably go somewhere else for food. Im sure the drinks are decent here. It is resort dinning, so everything is bit on the higher price, atleast i would expect the food to be par or very excellent. There are so many items on the menu which is a plus, however its better to focus on a few great items and do them extremely well then having too many ingredients and dishes which nothing comes out GREAT. Like I said, the side salad and tater tots was the only thing that was decent. again for an 8 dollar side salad and 7 dollar tots, the portions are a bit skimpted I would say. Better off bringing a lunch or walking 500ft over to subway! Good luck yall, this place needs to step it up a lot before i go back.
I was extremely hungry, though could only stand eating less then half of each dish and tosted everything in the trash. I wonder if the cooks taste the food at all before serving it, with my experience, it seems like...
Read moreA PENNY IN MY FOOD? (Yes, an actual cent)
In 35 years I’ve never heard of such thing. Hairs? Yeah, sure… but come on… a penny?
What was happening in the kitchen? How can a penny get in a customer’s plate?
My experience overall was not satisfactory due to several reasons (the penny being the most outrageous one):
Service was extremely slow. 30 mins to get an order of fries (the easiest thing you can actually serve) and almost an hour to get the actual food out which was a cold Southern bowl (with a penny) and a double impossible meat burger. Other people in other tables we saw order after us got their food before us.
When the check arrived, they were charging us $10 for a side of fries when the price really is $7. I wonder how many orders get by like that without the customer noticing.
Everything is absolutely way over priced. $31 for a double burger? I know the price of impossible burgers. Retails at $7-8 for 2 burgers. 12 patties $17. And I am sure they get them priced wholesale so it’s cheaper than meat, unless they are serving cheap meat. Because it’s plant-based you have to charge more? Really? Now, it’s even more outrageous to think a simple bowl with rice, corn, beans, guacamole, and impossible meat was $25. That bowl was no more than $12.
And of course the damn penny. Luckily I did not bite on it and broke my tooth. That would have not been fun for whoever owns this business.
My bowl was served cold. (And the table beside us also got their food cold and we were exchanging experiences)
Honestly, not recommending the place or...
Read moreIt is absolutely impossible to rate the customer service as low as deserved. The weak minded and petty manager that was on duty (2/12/24) exhibited an extreme lack of professionalism. He proceeded to make statements that he could never back up without his perceived security blanket consisting of his fellow staff members and the police.
The atmosphere is not kid friendly, as the manager threatened to remove kids from the restaurant for consuming an outside snack (crepe) without a friendly/ professional warning or redirection. The anger and threatening tone was immediately utilized, despite the customer being unaware that a child bringing in an outside snack would be such a problem.
The weak/ pathetic manager then proceeded to tell the customer to take all of their food to go and eat it at someone else's establishment. After the customer made it clear that they had enough of his mouth, he walked off but returned to instigate more. The customers volunteered to leave and the weak manager demanded that a bill was still to be paid, despite the fact that the customer had not received their food. The customer then paid for food that they had not had the opportunity to consume and left for a classier...
