Espresso Martini at Steep River Run – A Near-Perfect Masterpiece I've had a lot of espresso martinis in my time—some good, some bad, and some that tasted like someone accidentally dropped a coffee pod into a vodka bottle and called it a day. But let me tell you, the one at Steep River Run? Absolutely next level. This isn't just another espresso martini; it's a new take on the classic, and somehow, they’ve managed to perfect it. The balance of espresso, sweetness, and just the right kick of booze is near flawless—smooth, bold, and rich without being overly sweet or bitter. It’s the kind of drink that makes you question why you’ve tolerated so many subpar versions elsewhere. I’ve had espresso martinis from fancy bars to questionable airport lounges, and only rarely do I find one that I’d willingly order again. This? I’d happily come back for it. And no, it’s not just because this review gets me a free drink (though that’s a nice perk). It’s actually that good. If you’re an espresso martini fan—or just want a damn good cocktail—get yourself to Steep River Run. 5 stars, hands down.

worst place ever. we ordered 3 drinks from this place and they kicked us out for having outside food but we are still their customers too, regardless of what we ordered. we needed a place to sit to eat and drink, while we bought our drinks from them and when we sat down the bar tenders started repeatedly saying we can’t sit inside or outside if you didn’t buy anything and we told them we got 3 drinks but they repeated “you can’t sit inside or outside”. so now we are sitting on the cold floor outside while there are many empty tables and the place isn’t even busy! We were surprised and disappointed to see that the owner of Steep responded to customer feedback in such a disrespectful manner. As paying customers, we expect to be treated with respect, even when providing constructive criticism. We believe that every customer deserves a professional and courteous response, and hope that the team at Steep will reconsider how they engage with feedback in the future. This is just sad to see how rude people are here at Steep Coffee, really ruined my day!

My wife and I stopped in here mid-afternoon when wandering around River Run during a summer weekday when most other stores were closed. We are super glad we stopped in. Pretty cool small town bar vibe that serves up coffee and various mixed drinks and beer. I had a great mocha latte and my wife had a pretty tasty local IPA. Bartender/barista was nice and upbeat. We were able to take our drinks outside and sit on the deck which was nice. From outside you can enjoy your drink with a nice view of the rest of River Run and the mountain. Can’t speak on their food, but the drinks were good. Another bonus is that they are open later in the day than inxpot which is the other popular coffee place in River Run.

I’ll preface with saying I’ve never actually left a poor review before anywhere. Me and my family just had gotten crepes and cookies to go (which were awesome and they gave us an extra day old batch for free) when my mom wanted to grab something warm to drink before heading back to where we were staying. The sign here still displayed open outside and so my mom opened the door when one of the bartenders said “nope were closed”. My mom smiling and lightly said “even for a hot coco” and the bartender goes “absolutely not and your also not allowed to bring food in here or to any restaurant ever as a matter of fact” referring to my sister who had not even stepped foot inside the establishment nor was planning to while my mom grabbed a drink (neither had my mom she just opened the door). I know the bartender may have had a busy or hard day which led to the short and rude remarks but unfortunate nonetheless as I know it dampened the otherwise great day my family had.

(Also their hours list that they close at 8pm on Wednesday and we were there sometime around 7:20 as I’m editing this review at 757 back at the lodge)

After response from owner: The owner states that they close at 7pm and have tried to update google hours without success. However, the sign still said open outside when my mom opened the door. Again, we don’t care that the business was closed that’s totally fine, even when you clearly have some problems communicating that your closed without being rude 😂 (google saying open as well as your lit up “open” sign outside the business). The whole point is maybe just be nice to people. The owner states, “sounds like our staff communicated to you appropriately saying we are closed”. Cmon. Again, the issue was not that your closed but the tone and sarcastic and additional “jab” comment about never bringing food in (when again had not even walked in). At the end of the day there’s a whole bunch of better ways to communicate that your closed without being a jerk to someone who’s in their mid 60s. A different response from the owner could’ve easily garnered a different outcome like me taking down the review altogether (again never left a bad review). But now I’ll just say what I should’ve said in person to the employee. Grow up. Unfortunate as my dad loves coffee and now that they have a place in keystone he would have loved to go all the time but doesn’t plan to...
