Who knew I'd be enjoying some seriously good Chinese food and watching the game all the way out here in Fredericksburg? Panda Chinese has both your hunger and your entertainment covered! I'll be honest, I didn't expect to find legit Chinese food in these parts, but I'm happy to say I was pleasantly surprised--and now, I'm telling you, you need to grab some too. Let's talk about the Pu Pu Platter... It's like a greatest hits album of appetizers, complete with its own mini flaming hibachi in the center. Surrounding the flame were compartments filled with crispy egg rolls, juicy BBQ ribs, crab rangoon, fried shrimp, chicken wings, and beef cho-cho (beef on a stick, for those wondering what the heck that could be). It's as fun to say as it is to eat! Everything was hot, flavorful, and perfect for sharing while we cheered on our team. My friend couldn't stop raving about the sweet and sour soup, claiming it was one of the best they've had. I went for the miso, which was equally satisfying--smooth, savory, and exactly what I needed. I'm stumped to remember exactly what they ordered for their main dish, but I do recall hearing something about the perfect blend of spice and flavor, so clearly, it was a hit! I was too full from the Pu Pu Platter and Miso to continue with the food journey here, but my belly was quite pleased. Overall, if you're in Fredericksburg and looking for something a little off the beaten path from the usual fare, Panda Chinese is worth a visit. Delicious food, friendly vibes, and--bonus--you can catch the game while...
Read moreWe arrived on the night of January 8, 2023. There were three tables there. My husband ordered Egg Foo Yung and I ordered sushi. I received my soup which came with my meal. It was another 25 minutes before my husband received his dinner. I understand that sushi my take longer to prepare than other menu items, however, we waited and waited and my dish did not arrive. My husband had finished his meal and when asked about my food for the third or fourth time we were told that they were slammed with to-go orders and that my order had not been started. We have lived in Fredericksburg for 12 years and visited this establishment off and on. Recently the prices have gone up and the food quality and quantity has gone down. I would think that when you have in-house customers that you would want to take care of them. At the VERY least you should inform your customers that if they order sushi on a night the restaurant is slammed with to go orders you can expect the to-go orders to take priority and expect to possibly receive your food 45 minutes to an hour later. FYI: Wonderful sushi and hibachi restaurant in Kerrville Texas called BONZI! As for Panda we will not be back due to the lack of consideration and apathy even after they were aware of this situation. Our waitress was sweet and this was...
