Sassy Lassie — Local services in Fredericksburg

Pretty sure I met Sassy herself today. I went into this store with my family for my sisters birthday and was super excited to show them this store because ‘normally’ I love it. As I went to the back to show my niece the cool toys and weapons in the back there were two shopping baskets sitting on the floor. I didn’t think much of it and stepped over the basket. Before my foot even touched the ground I hear a “NO.STOP.”. I spin around to angry lady standing there and she tells me “We just mopped!!” She then turns to some guy and hand gestures a “look” at me and my niece and the guy rolls his eyes, shakes his head, and walks away from us! Then if that’s not bad enough, I tell her “oh my gosh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t realize those baskets were there on purpose!” She huffs and tells us “Well OBVIOUSLY we were trying to block that area.” Obviously!? Invest in ‘Wet Floor’ signs if you want it to be obvious. Don’t scold your customers who are just trying to enjoy the store and make them feel bad. Now I understand why the store is called “Sassy” Lassie. Instead of kind customer service you get eye rolls and scoldings....

I was recently in Fredericksburg and decided to visit Sassy Lassie. I saw shortly after I walked in a couple of really cute blouses. Coming into the store, the sales associate was on the phone, so I waited for a while. She knew I was there. The blouses were placed up high and I couldn't reach them. It would have been really great had I had a helpful sales associate. Instead, I had a pretty rude awakening as soon as I entered the store. I don't normally do this, but since I don't know her name, I'll describe her. She had shoulder length, blondish hair, very petite, and was older middle age...she also had a loud voice because the entire time I was there, she was yacking on the SPEAKER PHONE. It was a personal call, because....how could I NOT hear? I appeared to very much inconvenience her just by being in the store. So, I left without making any purchases. I'm sure she was happy to have me gone. Rating is 3 (would have been 5) because I really liked the whole aesthetic of the store, and the products. But I do hope if I come back, this very inconsiderate woman will be gone. Must be nice to be paid...

Apparently Sassy Lassie has no regard for accurate hours and just closes at whatever time suits whomever is on shift. In trying to allow adequate time to visit several shops before closing in downtown Fredericksburg my friends and I were glad to see Sassy Lassie reported later hours than most other stores. Naturally we stopped at a few places that closed earlier but when we got to Sassy Lassie's door they were closed too. And you can see by the picture it's anyone's guess as to whether they'll be open anytime someone...
