We were excited to go here. We looked forward to this for 3 days while in town visiting family.
Unfortunately our experience was soured by the rude employee and inconsistent policy application.
She had a poor attitude from the jump and was not consistent with patrons wearing masks. A group of white patrons were allowed to eat their ice cream w/o masks on while in the store, others were asked to keep their masks on the whole time (non whites). In restaurants, once the food is served, the masks can be removed to enjoy the food. Apparently that is a privilege reserved for certain patrons at mikeys.
The store is not air conditioned so its hot & humid inside the store which makes the mask enforcement discrepancy more of an issue. I guess Caucasian ppl can remove their masks đˇ to enjoy đŚ inside, while the rest of us have to go outside. Duly noted.
The waffle cones smelled delicious, the employee said they were fresh baked & crunchy, they were in fact soft & bendy which was a huge disappointment. They were out of several toppings (no big deal) but the employee explanation of their best sellers missed the mark. Turtle trax was not as described and was honestly disappointing. None of us enjoyed the ice cream. I'd honestly rather have Bluebell than have to deal with this place again.

Read moreIâm not one to leave a bad review but I think this one is necessary. My parents brought me down to Galveston so me and my brothers could have a nice summer vacation and so my parents could go to the Cordrayâs icecream shop to find out it was closed. The next best thing was hey mikeyâs in Galveston. We came down at about 8 oâclock on a Friday and it was PACKED. we were all fine with waiting but there didnât seem to be a good system in ordering even with three girls working up there. One girl had purple hair, one had short brown hair and the other had bright blonde hair. they were all taking orders and checking people out at the same time. The girl with purple hair got confused and took the same families order twice which can be frustrating but her reaction was completely unnecessary. She yelled at the customers to space ourselves out from each group of people which wouldâve been fine accept there was no room to move around (the store was packed.) When she took our order she seemed to be very angry and didnât really give us the time of day. They were out of about four flavors and they hadnât move the labels off. When we asked about them the woman taking our order got very snippy. The girl who checked us out was very nice but that didnât make up for the fact that our ice cream...
Read moreI went here because I've read about it in the Galveston information book. The pictures looked amazing and I was eager for a awesome waffle cone. When I arrived here I asked for a waffle cone with vanilla ice cream. I was told they didn't have any waffle cones I was heartbroken. I mean this place opens up at noon and I got here at 12:20 and they are know for their homemade waffle cones very disheartening. So I ask for my next favorite which is a brownie hot fudge sundae. She then told me there was no hot fudge and is it okay for chocolate, I just shook my head and said sure I then realized that she didn't put a brownie on my cup upon fixing it. I asked and was told that the small does not come with a brownie. By this time I was irritated and ready to leave. I just couldn't since I watched her prepare this ice-cream and didn't want it to go to waste. I was visiting and was not impressed đ I should have went to Marble Slab...
