I recently grabbed dinner at Big Daddyâs Pizzeria in Gatlinburg and had a perfectly fine mealâbut honestly, there are better pizza spots nearby. Big Daddyâs is part of a local trio, with locations in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, all under the same family of restaurants .
The vibe is tourist-friendly and laid-back, and the staff were super friendly and ready with recommendations when asked. That part stood out in a good way. We ordered wings and multiple pizzas. The pizzas were cooked well, with a crispy wood-fired crust and all that jazzâbut they were kinda bland overall, lacking bold flavor. The wings were disappointingâtiny, not very flavorful, and not great value for the price, though they did come in generous quantities.
If you're on vacation and just need a casual bite, itâll do. But if you want seriously good pizza, youâre better off heading to local favorites that consistently top the charts. Jersey Hustle Pizzeria in Pigeon Forge is frequently rated around 4.6 stars for its authentic East Coastâstyle pies and generous toppings . Another solid pick is Pizzeria of Gatlinburg, known for its classic New York-style pizza in a cozy, cabin-like setting . Both tend to get higher marks than Big Daddyâs.
So yeahâitâs an okay place to grab a bite while strolling downtown, but if pizza is the star of your evening, you might want to explore the...
Read moreWe eat here most times that we visit the area. We really like the pizza. We always get it to go, but when I go inside the place is always extremely clean and everyone is overly friendly! So letâs get that out of the way. The food is always, ALWAYS good. Brick oven pizza like it should be. Consistent. Good portion of toppings. Delicious sauces and dips. The staff greeted me promptly and gathered my order. They offered all the things we need when staying somewhere other than our homes; napkins, plates, Utensils, cheese, ranch, peppers, etc. so why 4 stars? There are no deals on multiple pizzas and the prices are going up and up and up. We got 1 14â cheese. 1 14â pickle (donât judge me!! Try it!! Itâs sooooo good) 1 kids pizza. 1 half cheesy bread and a 2 liter. It was $60 to feed 4-5 people. $24 is just too much for one pizzas. Please, offer combo deals for families to save a few bucks. I get how profit works, but this seems excessive.
Parking in the back is super helpful as well!
TL;DR food and service is amazing! Price...
Read moreSaturday evening in Gatlinburg is guaranteed to be busy. The "immediate seating" sign was lit up at Big Daddy's and their star rating looked good so we decided to try. Hubby and I ordered iced teas and the artichoke spinach appetizer. I was fine with the tea but DH traded for a diet mountain dew. The appetizer was served smoking hot. The flavor was great and the choice to serve it on pita bread instead of chips was a welcomed change from the norm. For dinner we settled upon the taco pizza. This is where our experience fell apart. Instead of cheese melted in the pizza in the oven, the cheese used is queso, way too much queso. The menu description said it included lettuce but it was sparse and wilty. Simply using a healthy dose of shredded lettuce and serving the queso on the side would have improved this meal tremendously. As it stands, I do not recommend the taco pizza unless you really like queso on crust more than actual pizza. The service was friendly and our drinks...
