Beulah Kitchen — Restaurant in Glendale

I would rate this Korean Restaurant with one star, acknowledging its palatable and fresh cuisine, as well as the courteous service provided by the female staff member. Conversely, the male staff member, possibly the owner, consistently exhibited egregious behavior, including derogatory comments during our three visits. Today, he requested that we clean the floor, to which I responded, 'As customers, that's your duty; we've even left a generous tip anticipating further complaints about my children, given the negligible mess.' We are also the only customers inside. Telling us to clean a piece of meat on the floor is lazy and commenting that we are messy is unprofessional. The owner even said that our children has caused burden to their team, whereas, my children only left our table to get water. Plus, the team he was referring to was only himself because he needed to do his job. His other staffs are in the kitchen.

During a previous experience, he urged us to expedite our meal at 7 pm, citing the restaurant's 8 pm closure. Then he started banging chairs. It is noteworthy that other staff members shared our view that while the food is commendable, his attitude poses a significant threat to the business's viability. Unfortunately, we will not return to this establishment due to these distressing experiences, which may be indicative of racism or animosity toward children, though this remains uncertain.

Not impressed with their food. I went today looking for kimchi soup. They didn't have any so I ordered the spicy tofu soup with beef. The soup's broth was lacking flavor, it barely had a few really tiny pieces of meat, not very spicy and the tofu was basically disintegrating and turning into pudding instead of being firm as it should be for Korean or any other type of soups. The banchan consisted of kimchi which was not that good, some pickles, potatoes and plain bean sprouts. I also got a bowl of rice which was OK. The service was friendly and soup was boiling hot but like I said the food left a lot to be desired. I also overheard from another table that ordered the beef soup that the it lacked flavor. I ended up dumping my kimchi into the soup to give it some flavor and left most of the disintegrating tofu on the small bowl. All I can say that for $9.99 it was way to expensive for what it was.
