Excellent concept but a bogey on execution, we enjoyed our visit here but the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Good food, decent portions, slightly over-priced
My wife and I have been curious to check this place out since it opened, we decided an early April afternoon was the right time to do that. The place was mildly crowded but we were seated quickly. There is no waiter and ordering is done through a QR code, the speed of receiving your items depends on making your way through the menu (this includes water) and it is hard to get a recommendation on menu items. The menu includes standard assortment of coke products (4 dollars an order seemed a little excessive), small variety of beer mixed between draft, can, and bottle (also heavily over-priced). They also have cocktails but we didn't venture into that territory, pricing was on par with other drinks.
As for food, we ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and shrimp tacos. Flavor was good and portions were sufficient, but nothing to rave about. About the only thing that was accuratley priced was the kid's meal chicken tenders. Service itself was fine but the lack of a waiter can have you hunting down a refill or extra napkins, etc.
We did not play the putting greens but there was a good crowd there that seemed to enjoy them.
The highlight for my kids was the park play structure, which was also a draw for us. We figured the park would let our kids get the zoomies out while we enjoyed the weather, unfortunately the only area that has a view of the park is used for private parties so we did not have such and opportunity. This seems like a pretty major oversight on design/plan and the biggest obstacle to us returning to this venue.
The facility is clean and well maintained, several TVs to catch live sports and moderate volume pop music plays throughout.
Not included in the rating is parking, which is limited and tight so if you arrive in a larger vehicle you will need to search for a spot in the adjoining...
Read moreInteresting concept: Instead of paying a fee for each player to play 18 holes on a miniature golf course, you pay a flat fee to play as much as you want from the time you pay until midnight. However, there is nobody on either course (Black or Red) managing the pace of play. We chose to play the Black course because there was a line of 32 people waiting to play the harder Red course. After lunch, we were able to play the Red course and while it has some mounds and curves that make it more challenging, both courses are pretty pedestrian. One nice feature that I’ve never experienced at a mini-golf facility is the ability to order a beer/cocktail or soft drink with my phone and have it delivered to me on the course.
The restaurant is an open-air dining facility that asks you to scan a QR code for the menu and that’s how you place your order: NOBODY comes to see if you want water or answer any questions about the menu. Our order included specific instructions to place a pineapple habanero sauce on the side- but it wasn’t included. There was no ’check-back’ to confirm our food tasted good or that we were provided the correct items. There were 3 of us and the food delivery person brought out 2 entrees and 2 ‘set-up’s’ (fork & knife wrapped in a napkin) and we had to mention there was supposed to be a Blackened Mahi Wrap. He went to the kitchen and brought it out and we had to ask for another set-up. After that, we had zero interaction with anyone. Nobody offering another drink, desert, nothing. The food was reasonably priced but marginal in the taste department. If this business is planning to compete with Top Golf I would say it has woefully missed the mark. This was a ‘one and...
Read moreI walked into pop stroke at 9:45 on 4/19 with very low expectations as I work in hospitality and realize that’s late considering they close at 11. We weren’t greeted at the door by the person behind the counter and the manager at the stand within the small restaurant area seemed upset we wanted a table. Rather than informing us that both the kitchen and golf clubs ends at 10 we sat and immediately were rushed at 9:55 to put our order in. They don’t allow ordering through a bartender and their worthless barcode system was horrid. The food arrived quickly I must say and was actually pretty good. The attitude of every single individual that assisted us was horrible. It was almost as if you weren’t allowed to smile. I know it can be frustrating when people walk in closer to close but you’re working, on the clock, least you can do is provide friendly service and provide the expectation at the door. Instead of golfing because we couldn’t (it was 10:15, we had 45 minutes until close) we threw bags. Almost all employees for the final 30 minutes stood around and played ping pong. The manger seemed upset we threw bags until close and never once checked in the entire experience. If you don’t like your job, you should find a new one. Tiger woods would be disgusted with this service and I won’t be surprised when he sells this concept to get his name not attached to it. Despite taking care of the bartender by tipping and being respectful I will never give them business again. Go mini golfing anywhere else in the valley and even if it’s old and ran down you will more than likely be...
