I used to love this place, but I would never go back here again because I am so angry with the service I received. Last Friday on 10/9/15 my boyfriend and I were walking down the Brand strip of Glendale. My boyfriend has just moved to CA, and Left Coast Wine Bar was one of the many places I had talked about that i'd like to take him too, especially since we live 5 mins away, so we went in so he could check it out. We get to the bar to order a couple of beers, the woman behind the bar who was checking our ID's walked away and stood in the corner as she pulled out her phone. We were very confused as to what she was doing with her phone and his ID in the back corner of the bar. Finally about 5 mins later she comes back and says "Yeah i'm not going to accept that". Very confused as to why she wouldn't accept his ID we asked her, and she said it looks photoshopped. I instantly pointed out several ways you can tell an ID is real for example the state crest which shines if you turn the ID in the light. I also explained to her that I realize she is not used to seeing an ID from Arizona, but that this is what the State ID looks like. After arguing for some time, we finally took the ID back and enjoyed ourselves elsewhere on Brand where we passed along our horrible experience at Left Coast. One bartender even scanned the ID after we told her and of course it said it was real. Left Coast, you seriously need to educate your employees on identifying real or fake IDs or GET A SCANNER! Or you can just lose all business from people with out...
Read moreCame here on a Saturday night to enjoy jazz, and we were not disappointed! The musicians were amazing. Simply tremendous! However, it took a while to hear them play because the server who greeted us didn’t know when the music would start. It would have been nice to know it started at 930pm versus 8-830pm like we were told on the phone.
The flatbread pizzas were good but seemed to be made from canned ingredients and pre-made bread. No problem. Just don’t charge $12 for it. I’d suggest eating before you come.
The wine menu is very good. The options have been selected with care. Obviously, the prices are higher, but you can find some good options here. Beers are $8, which seems excessive considering most of the options. The cocktails are beautiful and prepared with the utmost care. Treat yourself to one since the price is only slightly higher than other options.
Overall: This is a solid establishment with potential. At present, their price-point is excessive, but the combination of setting, drinks, and great music is there. The management just needs to figure out how to...
Read moreMy first visit to The Oak and Vine establishment. Soon as we walked in two ladies were very welcoming and sat us to table with no wait. The waitress was very helpful with the menu. We had little finger food and Is sharkuderi plate. The meats and cheese were very delicious and delightful complimenting with the wine that we were drinking. The outdoor patio had heaters and relaxing ambience music. They do also have indoor seating as well. The location also offers club membership with special offers with your own locker. Private locker owners have a upstairs lounge area that can be used. The menu was small but more to come soon since they just re-opened. If you like to have a romantic nice night I would definitely recommend going here. They also offer full spirits and...
