Mancino's Pizza & Grinders — Restaurant in Grand Ledge

The reason for the rating is because of the owner. I use to go here for Alfredo at least 2 Sundays a month. It got to the point the gal that always worked on Sunday knew my voice when I called it in. The last Sunday I called it in a guy answered and took my order. As always I picked up my to go order and went home, to my surprise the Alfredo was made with elbow macaroni. NO problem it was good anyways. Later that month I called in an order during the weekday and asked if the Alfredo was going to be made with fettuccine the response was we always make it with fettuccine. I stated why I asked the last time I received it, it was made with elbow macaroni. Well he made it VERY clear by yelling over the phone that he was the owner and they never made it that way. I knew who the owner was by sight and he sure wasn't there on that Sunday I got it made with elbow macaroni. I figure this, they ran out of fettuccine and the employees ran and got elbow macaroni to fill the orders. I'm so disappointed with the food we received from here. And there was some serious miscommunication with the young guy that took our order. Even after getting back in line to clarify our order (he rang up a pizza grinder when we ordered a pizza, then insisted he couldn't make the pizza after all because of the cost difference) I will say when I brought it to the attention of the manager he made it right and apologized. But it was still frustrating. We waited 45 minutes for a cheesebread and pizza. The cheesebread was delicious and came out about 30 mins before pizza. The pizza however was not good. The crust was so paper thin the toppings fell off and you couldn't hold it like a piece of pizza. It was slightly undercooked because they rushed it. I understand the crew of 2 young men were extremely busy so I was very kind and understanding. I'm only leaving this review to be transparent, not to be mean. Usually I’ve had a decent enough experience with this place but this time, I’m appalled we wasted our money here. Most of our order was fine but one item we ordered extra ingredients. Not only did we not receive the extra, we didn’t get what we were SUPPOSED to have. We called the store and the OWNER accused us of lying. We went so far as to take the item BACK to the store and he continued to call us liars as he was clearly the one who made it so our “husband or boyfriend must have been hungry”. Key point: this order was for a mother/daughter household with no men involved, so misogynist much?He didn’t offer to remake it and only offered a refund after continued back and forth. Honestly, it’s not about the mess up, it’s about the fact the owner had no humility to admit there might have been a mistake made (because mistakes happen and we understand that) and to correct the problem.
