So Much Potential.. I’ve been here twice and here are my takeaways: - The atmosphere is EXCELLENT. Love the esthetic. Music is a little generic and loud but overall very nice. - The food makes a lot of claims to be fresh and local. Not sure how accurate this was. Grew up on a farm and it doesn’t taste remarkable. - the menu has a great selection of options. The two bowls I’ve had (the guac and the tuna poké) had solid ingredients but really lacked on the flavor. I’ve eaten at plenty of local spots that had awesome flavor while still keeping the food clean and fresh. - the staff was either super nice or could not wait to get rid of us. The girl who prepared our food was super kind and helpful to my wife and I but the boy who rang us up was totally aloof and checked out. Very repelling. - their smoothies are good! I had the chocolate and banana smoothie and it was tasty and felt like something I would make with fresh ingredients in my kitchen at home. - the price is higher than I am used to paying for the flavor profile they deliver. If I’m going to pay for something akin to a Tropical Grille, I’m expecting to pay those prices as well, not $15+/person. There ARE places here in GVL with comparable prices that deliver KILLER flavors and locally sourced ingredients (I.e. FARM FRESH FAST) I would like to see more of that overhead going toward staff and ingredients.. Overall: it’s clear that this place needs more attention to detail in their flavor and staff. Example: They described their corn as “grilled” when it was clearly steamed. Stuff like that is an earmark for lazy cooking and cutting corners. I WANT to like this place! The vibe is awesome and clearly designed well… they just have to step up their follow-through. It’s clear that they don’t have a lot of returning customers (we were the only people sitting down at 4pm on a Friday) and this is definitely a place you could hangout at. Hopefully they step their game up so we can come back again..

I wanted to like this place because I love vegan/vegetarian restaurants that try to source their ingredients responsibly, which this establishment appears to be. Yet as others have said, it is pretty over priced and I don’t feel like the serving sizes are that big either. For $19 I got a Thai Hard bowl and cup of soup and did not feel full afterward. I got a Golden Milk which was way too sweet as well. I think they said they used 3/4 of an ounce of Maple Syrup in it and I should have asked for half that amount. The food was OK at best and maybe even bordered mediocre. My wife got the Iron Man bowl and she had similar impressions as me. At first glance there were lots of things on the menu that looked really good but sadly the food just isn’t that good. There were things good about the restaurant, like the customer service was friendly, offering to toss our bowls and walk them out to the table, the ambience was vibrant, and the location is excellent, but regrettably the food is not. Maybe if it were cheaper it might leave a better impression? E.g. In terms of taste and satiation, I think $8 would be a better price for the bowl I bought for $14. Probably won’t be coming back, disappointed.

Update!!!! Great place still. I called the manager and spoke to I believe Chris, he explained that he knew I was vegan and they have 3 different options for bread; udis, Rudis and Ezekiel bread. He explained to me that because he knew I was vegan he gave me rudis bread which is vegan. I’m glad he wasn’t upset about my review and took the time to explain that to me. I really like the fact that he remembered me as a regular and took the time to explain. Him knowing who I was and making that choice of bread for me shows me that they truly care. I remember when I told him I was vegan and he continued to explain how the facility doesn’t use sugar, is mostly organic and use olive oil. I can appreciate that! I will be back! .....I love the place. Great food. What is upsetting to me is that the menu has labeled the avocado toast and ab&j toast vegan when I researched the Udi’s gluten free bread it contains egg whites. So your menu has labeled something vegan and lists that the bread they use for a vegan item is udis gluten free bread. It can not be vegan if it contains eggs. This is upsetting because I have ate the toast on several occasions expecting it to be vegan as it is labeled. I have been vegan for 4+years. This confirms why I don’t eat out. This is serious to me. Great food but not worth it for...
