We Went there for my daughter’s graduation celebration as a large party. We had made prior reservations, but once we got there, the look on the hostess face was as if she didn’t know that we were coming. The mistake. They had us as a party of eight we were supposed to a party of ten. So they decided to sit us in a corner because only half of our party was there. What’s the remainder of our party then they decided to move the family that was sitting beside us. We were still in the corner because there was a party in front of us. We didn’t have to get up and go to the bathroom. It was very uncomfortable. When the righteous realized she couldn’t hardly serve our table drinks she then asked us if we would like to move upstairs, And of course, we did! Once we got upstairs The service was much quicker, but our waitress seems to not want to serve us. She wasn’t happy about the service. She was giving us a hard time, She asked us to assist her in setting the table. Even when it came to placing our appetizer orders. The manager came over to help her place the orders she was going to send out Half of our parties appetizers with their food while the rest of the party was going to have appetizers in advance, which was crazy. They finally got it together, and the food came out relatively quickly. We were finished eating And I paid for the check I noticed that there was a $60 tip automatically included. My problem is I don’t have a problem paying that type of tip, but when the service is bad, however I do. We were Treated so cold. When it was all done, I pulled the manager to the side, and I told her that I thought the service was bad, but the food was excellent, and she stared off into space as if she didn’t care she didn’t offer to. She didn’t apologize, which sealed the deal let me know That the treatment was purposeful. She did apologize and we just walked away. I don’t go would inconvenience them with my large party again, especially since we drove from Charlotte to receive such terrible service and the...
Read moreWe initially had reservations at Up on the Roof. At the last moment we had to add a guest to the reservation. Up on the Roof has a strict policy of no parties larger than eight. We had to quickly find a restaurant that would accommodate nine guest. I called Ink and Ivy. The lady that answered the phone said they could not accept a reservation with a party larger than eight. She did say that she would accept my call as a “call ahead”…not sure of the difference. She told me to report to the hostess station upon arrival. My two friends got to the restaurant a few minutes early and checked in with the hostess. The hostess said she did not have my name on the list. Once I arrived, I showed her my call log and that I spoke to someone for over two minutes. She went in search of the hostess that spoke to me. She finally came back and said the hostess forgot to write my information down. They quickly sat us upstairs. I thought okay…it has to get better from here. Now let me say this…I know that many establishments are short staffed, but there is no reason for anyone to act rude. The waitress took forever with our drink orders. I never said anything because I was trying to be understanding. She finally came back to take our food orders. We had been waiting for a quite a while at this point. I had to rescan the code to view the menu. She was tapping her pen at me as I was placing my order. The waitress never refilled our drinks, we had to ask for the chips that we ordered instead of the fries, she charged us for ranch that she never brought out and she acted like she didn’t want to be there. Unfortunately because we were a large party, gratuity was included. My food was actually pretty good. Several of my other friends said the food was just okay. I hope this waitress has a better attitude for her next large party. She could have received a very large tip if she would just...
Read moreWent here on a week night and had an ok experience. I love the roof top....such amazing views, but the service is bad enough to make you never want to return. It was not at all busy and as we sat at the roof top bar it took all of 15 minutes to be acknowledged ( and there were 2 different people behind the bar after we sat with only 1 other customer sitting down) . The bartenders did everthing but say hi and bring a water over. I asked my bartender if they could make something similar to a strawberry basil smash, she said yes and made a passion fruit one instead. It was reallllyyyy good. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip and the crispy potatoes without the chorizo to start. The spinach dip was awful. It literally just tasted like cream cheese and nothing else. The portion was a good size and the pita chips were warm...but it just seemed as if I was eating spoonfuls of cream cheese straight out of the fridge. The potatoes were soooo good. They were crispy and I loved the aioli. My partner ordered wings & got them korean flavored. He loved them & I only tried the sauce and it was really good ( he ordered a double shot after I ordered my drink and it took him a long time to get his drink as well). I ordered the sweet and spicy shrimp and again, it took forever but I would definitely order those take out because it was really good & a great dup of like a bang bang shrimp. Our server was kind, but it was just a slow slow night. Even with other servers coming in and out of the bar. They also would disappear fort large chunks of time. Would try other food, but probably only to go instead...
