We visited with another couple tonight for dinner. My husband and I used our Fox card for a two for one discount. The young man at the register appeared to be new and asked for help keying in the discount. We let him know that the other couple that was right behind us also had a card. He said he heard what they ordered and he understood. My husband and I sat down, then noticed it was taking a long time for the others to join us. When they did, we learned that even after showing their card before the meal was rung up, they were charged full price...no discount. After paying with cash, they noticed they were not given the discount. They told the young man, and he asked the manager (who was in the kitchen and never turned around) if he could give a refund for the amount overcharged. He said no, but they could get a full refund. They didn't want a full refund, just what was owed to them. If not for us waiting for them, they would have taken the refund and walked out. After they joined us, the manager came to the table and after much discussion said he could watch the tape, then see if a full refund could be given. Basically, he implied he did not believe us. My husband explained what had happened, but we all felt totally insulted. We told the manager we would not be back, and he made it clear he did not care. He was very unprofessional and apparently knows nothing about respect and customer service. It’s a shame, because the food is excellent, and the other employees were friendly. Was it worth it to the manager to not fix their...
Read moreI paid 54.42$ for 1 Lbs of fat? Let’s start with the meat, or should I say Fat, disgusting, inedible, and it looked boiled NOT smoked, it tasted like water and grease. Next we have the service, garbage, I couldn’t even understand the cashier, I asked them to repeat themselves TWICE before giving up and moving on. Speak up, Speak clear. Rule 2 of food service, Rule one is often considered “The customer is always right”. Then you’ve got fountain drinks out of syrup? No sign, just out, sounds like someone is lazy. Let’s walk to our table, not 1 not 2, but 4 tables with trash and trays sitting on them. Hate to break it to you, but the Greenville location was NOT busy enough to justify the lack of table bussing… Lazy. How about the rest of the meal? Well the macaroni and cheese was dry and crusty (disgusting), the spicy potatoes had more salt then the Atlantic, the potato salad was paste, no texture whatsoever, and the saddest of all.. my poor banana pudding, more than a day old (and let me tell you I know my pudding), nilla wafers are a tough cookie, it takes a long time for them to have no discernible texture from the pudding. Is this the quality you hold your managers to? Last I checked managers and assistant managers are the only ones who can cut meat right? For quality control. Well let me tell you who cut mine, Blonde, female, Braids. This was NOT quality control. I’ve been going here for 4 years because of the quality of meat, but I suppose all good things come to an end? I can Summarize the entire...
Read moreThis might actually be some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. Which is quite sad considering this is Texas. Where you can usually throw a rock and at least find average BBQ. Go a bit further and you'll find something awesome.
We stopped by on our way through town to try out this near-by high rated place. It was busy, which is usually a good sign. But then saw they had a drive-through, which is not a good sign.
Once inside, they have a cafeteria style ordering system. You tell them the meats you want. They put them on a plate, then you grab your own sides as you work your way through. They don't actually list the sides anywhere. So you'd want to browse around first, as there are quite a few to chose from.
In either case, we had a variety of items. Sausage, Brisket, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, toast, and a few other items I've forgotten already.
The sausage was about the only thing "edible." Even though it was mostly bland and flavorless. Which is something I can say for just about everything on our plates. The brisket was also dry. The tea tasted of dirt.
Honestly, I could only take a few bites of everything, and then just left.
Which is just terrible. Especially when you consider how expensive this place is. They charge normal "good BBQ" prices. Or about $15 for a plate of inedible food.
I should also note there is a Bell by the door one should ring for good food. Nobody run the bell while...
