So my family (wife and 7,8,12 year olds) I’ve been coming here two or three times a year for The better part of the decade. It’s one of the things we look forward to most on our trips to Gunnison.

I don’t know that we will come back after yesterday. Long story short: we were Excited to Introduce my parents to the place. Called a few hours ahead to make sure they would have a room for a party of seven. We were the first table seated. We ordered Drinks, appetizers, and meals all upfront. Warned the parents that it could be a little while because they are a small staff.

We got our drinks within five minutes, I got our appetizers within 15. This is all good and well. They had a three top, and three 2 tops come in about 20 minutes after we ordered. This is all good and well, but 90 minutes after we got our appetizers they still had not started cooking our food.

The waitress came over and asked if we’d like another round of drinks to which I declined and asked if we could just have the food to go as two hours before food is cooked is too long. At this point, everyone that came in 30 minutes after us was either finished and drinking, or gone with their leftovers. It took them about five minutes to cook our meals and win the two go bags and check arrived. The waitress simply had this to say: “have a good one.”

My wife and I have worked in restaurants Mr. lives and understand the grind and prioritizing tables… And also understand tipping very, very well. The whole experience was a lot for me to digest mentally… And it’s a shame because now our three trips a year we will probably be eating sub-par food. You guys have to get better. This is not acceptable for a...

Found this gem on the way to Crested Butt and was glad we did. Read the reviews on yelp everything looked great. Only negative was slow service because it is a Ma and Pop place. The place has a yellow front entrance as wide as one parking spot. We were lucky and got star parking right in front.

When we entered we were surprised because it was larger than appeared, with tables and bar is a ling room.

We were greeted with a smile and seated at a table in the back. The server provided menus and water. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time and everything came in a reasonable time with drinks first. We ordered a large and small margarita’s. The large was large :-)

Chips and salsa were on point and tasted authentic. We ordered the pork tamale and beef enchiladas and taco cheese combo. Being from San Diego i know my mexican food. Ine if the best tameles i have every tasted. The beef in the taco and enchiladas tasted like moms slow cooked roast beef with a mexi seasoning

Food was amazing, service was quick and good. Parking is street, you may get lucky like I did right in front.

We were there on a Monday 1:30 pm. Tables were available. Check out the menu in the pictures, lots of...

Mexican food starts with the chips and salsa. If they’re average or poor, you’re in trouble. These did not disappoint. We added guacamole and, while the wait seemed a bit long, again, we were not disappointed. Super fresh, simple, flavorful. And paired with a fresh lime margarita, we were in heaven. You only need one if you want to see straight. Great value for $9.

My girlfriend and I shared the Chili Colorado. Rich, spicy (not too much) and so flavorful. We returned two more times on our 10 day trip having fish tacos and the fajitas, all top notch.

Anejo made me miss the SF Bay Area and the great mexican food you can find there. They would easily rank among the best. That’s saying something for this little gem in the small town of Gunnison.

In fairness, you might find the food a little pricey and the wait (for food) a little long. I say settle in, savor the company you’re with, and relish the...

Hands down, the best Mexican food I've had since moving from Texas to Colorado 5 years ago. I've tried a lot of places between Gunnison and Montrose, and this is the only place I'll spend money on Mexican food. The other places are fine for appetizers or drinks... but when I'm craving good Mexican food, best believe I'm coming here! The tacos and enchiladas are delicious. My husband loves their burritos. The chips and salsa aren't the best, but the food is and it's a worthy trade-off! The place is small (which we like), but if you end up seated in the back close to a loud group, your experience might be lacking atmosphere, but that would be the case anywhere.

This family run hole in the wall had some wonderful margaritas, cold beer, but most importantly great tasting home made food. I can highly recommend this location. Come early as the place fills up quickly after 1800. As per usual, I did not take pictures of the food until after I already polished off half of it. Tasted great. First time I had a Chef’s burrito with all the meats cut up and mixed in one burrito. Beef, Chicken, Pork, and Shrimp. I enjoyed it!!
