The experience at this wine bar was disappointing and frustrating. My girlfriend and I chose an empty table with two chairs, only to be approached by the bartender, Justin, asking us to move to the bar seating. His reason? The table was supposedly "reserved" for a family with children.
This was particularly irritating because I know this establishment operates with open seating—no reservation system. Even more confusing was the preference given to a family with children at what is primarily a wine bar.
The situation became even more absurd when we later discovered that the family with children who supposedly reserved our table had actually found seating outside. Instead, Justin simply seated a completely different group of older adults at our former table!
Justin's approach felt unwelcoming and his explanation was clearly dishonest. If the bar has changed their policies regarding seating and reservations, they should make this clear to customers. What could have been an enjoyable evening turned into an uncomfortable situation where we felt unwelcome and dismissed in favor of other customers based on what appeared to be completely fabricated reasons.
I would think twice before returning to this establishment where customers are treated inconsistently and with such...
Read moreValue! We have been coming here for happy hour for years, but it’s been a little while and tonight we missed happy hour and had a date night. We ran into friends also on a date night - this place is a bit of a local secret. Their well alcohols are above average and they have some of the best deals around on cocktails - and BEER! Draft beer ranges from lager to Kua Bay and is pretty much two beers for the price of one. My husband always orders the shrimp dynamite, and tonight it was particularly giant, fresh and tasty. We also really enjoyed the scallop dynamite sushi. We are allowed to get food in the attached supermarket and bring it over and eat it in the wine bar. I’m gonna go ahead and highly recommend this restaurant for vegetarian options because whatever you want, if they don’t have it on the menu, you can just go get it at the store and eat it in the restaurant. Please don’t change, Aloha wine bar! We love you the...
Read moreWe are spending the week at the Hilton just down the road from Queens Marketplace. We decided to stop here for dinner after loo king at the food and drinks menu. By "we" I mean 9 people, which included 3 children. The place is very small and could not accommodate us. However, the wonderful server, Mark, went way above and beyond to find a way to make it work. He really bent over backwards to get us seated quickly after rearranging some tables. We ordered drinks and food at the same time as he told us it would take a while for the small kitchen to make the food. When he brought the water we ordered for the kids he had put it in mule cups with a slice of orange! The food was just delicious!! And so reasonably priced. Mark deserves 10 stars for the excellent service he gave us. It's so rare to find someone who will do whatever it takes to get...
