For a shopping market deli and price leader this place easily earns 5 stars. In comparison to the resort prices for the same thing this place is a bargain. It’s about the same as Conus prices. I found a wide selection of food choices. Don’t expect paper or plastic plates…you’ll be eating out of a paper take out box. A small eating area is available just outside the deli.

The food was awful! It lacked flavor and was lukewarm. The ribs were burnt and dry. The pork chops cooked in cornmeal was odd tasteless. The fries were over seasoned. Some of that Cajun seasoning should have been put on the pork chops. They are far from any Cajun or creole style restaurant. Save your money and time. We ultimately bought a pizza at the resort.

This reminds me of a Hawaiian Fresh Market/Whole Foods type of store. Prices are reasonable and the food is actually pretty good (depending on the dish). We had a handful of items from here during our stay and they were all solid. The Loco Moco though would be my one to recommend.

Island Deli is in the Queen's Mall in Waikoloa. It is basically an ABC store on steroids. You can get everything you need for vacation in this store, plus; takeout breakfast, lunch & dinner. You can also eat your food in there outdoor fenced area or in the courtyard, just outside the door.

The process for getting your meal is a little confusing. First you go to one of the deli's inside the store and order your food. They will give you a printout of your order. You then go through the store and collect anything else that isn't in one of the deli's. Take the ticket from the deli and the other items to one of the checkout cashiers inside the center of the store and pay. Let the cashier know if you are also getting a fountain drink.

Once you've paid the cashier, you take the receipt(s) back to the deli and wait for your name to be called. Check each item as they hand it to you to make certain it is correct and you got everything you ordered. Ask for any condiments you need as you pick up your food. Listen carefully as they speak very broken English, more so than the islanders. You don't really understand them and they may not really understand you.

If you paid for drinks, go to the fountain to fill them up. This includes the coffee cups used for water.

We visited the Island Deli almost everyday, depending on where we were headed and if we were hungry or not. It is...

I came here and spent $55 on three meals to share with my three children. The food is ok. I saw two families outside using the small coffee cups at the soda fountain as water cups so I assumed I could do the same. I asked for a water cup for each of my three children and was told I needed to buy a full price fountain drink for each and that there was no water, which is illegal per Hawaii food and beverage laws. My son and daughter then went in separately and we're each quoted different, arbitrary prices for water cups. I also asked for an extra plate to split one of the meals with my 17 month old son and was told no...

Food was ok. Service was very lacking. First, wanted to get a blt and was told they couldn’t do it despite having other types of blts that included meat and a build your own sandwich. Then, when I tried to make one out of a build your own, was told it would be extra for bacon and couldn’t just substitute the bacon for the meat that was already an included option. Then, I ordered the mahi mahi tacos with the sauce on the side which they did not do. Instead, it was slathered all over the tacos and was told it would take 7 minutes to redo despite their mess up. Very poor performance considering the...
