The baristas, during our mornings visits, September 3-7, were not very friendly. I forgot to rinse out my own Starbucks mug one morning. It had about an inch of coffee from the previous morning. I was told they couldn't do it. Therefore, I went outside and poured the remainder in the trash. The barista (a young guy) with short, thick, black hair then told me he could not take my mug unless it was COMPLETELY RINISED out. When I asked again if he couldn't do that, he rudely said, "No, it's against company policy." I replied, that it didn't use to be. He ignored me. My husband politely walked outside, all the way to the bathrooms for the shops, in order to "rinse" my mug out, since Starbucks had no bathroom. When he returned he said, "This is the last time we come here. They have been somewhat rude each morning, especially that guy."
We found Island Vintage Coffee shop across the road at the Kings' Shops. They were super friendly with a great vibe at the shop! Delicious Hawaiian Honey Latte and food items. Goodbye Starbucks! Read moreCame here this morning to grab a sausage, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich along with a tea so I can use my Star Reward points.
Everything was great and the staff was vibrant and fun for an early Sunday morning! I got my tea, then picked up an extra cup of whipped cream for my Pooch that was with me. (They didn't charge me so I'm not sure if that was a complimentary item from them or not but it was very nice of them!)
I noticed a long time had passed and my breakfast sandwich wasn't ready yet. From what it had appeared they didn't make it yet -which was okay since I was in no rush. But what made it even greater was that the barista, Mahali (sorry if I butchered the name) didn't even care to argue, got right to it and made a new one immediately.
On top of that awesome customer service and attentiveness, he refunded my money! I was so appreciative because he did this all while still having a smile on his face and ensuring I had a nice customer experience.

I placed a mobile order to avoid standing in a long line, yet when I asked for a simple cup of ice upon picking up my drink, I was rudely told by a Philippine lady—who claimed to be a shift manager—that I would need to go to the back of the line, behind 10 people, just to request it.
If standing in line was acceptable, I wouldn’t have used mobile ordering in the first place. Her tone and attitude were unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional.
When another manager came out, rather than resolving the issue with understanding, they simply blamed “company policy” without offering any solution or courtesy.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable. I hope the management team reviews this incident and addresses both the attitude of the staff and the inflexibility of such policies. A cup of ice shouldn’t be...
