Don Pedro's Family Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Heber

Twenty years down the tube! My wife and I have been going here for over 20 years. We always liked the authentic food. We went there yesterday a Thursday afternoon, usually we go there on weekends. We ordered our dinner and it arrived so quickly we were both surprised, at that point we should have been suspicious instead. First off my meal which I love from there, a chimichanga had an odd taste to it. It was tough and chewy not crispy. It was also not anything like when it was ordered previously. My wife had ordered ground beef enchiladas. What came to the table was shredded chicken or pork. We asked two different employees at the front of the restaurant to summon our waitress. They both seemed to be "put out" at our request Finally the waitress came back to our table and took my wife's plate back to the kitchen after we explained the incorrect order. I am about 1/2 through my dinner when the second plate arrived. It still had shredded meat in the enchiladas and looked like they had scraped food off the prior plate onto this one. When we called the waitress back, she acted like she could not believe that it was shredded again. Believe it or not she actually took my wife's fork and while standing over our table and dug through her plate, still not believing that it was shredded. Worst service I’ve ever received! First of all it took 15 minutes for someone to even ask us how many was in our party when we walked in. Servers walked by, cooks walked by and not ONE person even said hi, welcome, or someone will be with you! Then we sat down got our chips and salsa, THEY WERE DISCUSTING! Chips were so hard my kids could barely eat them. Salsa tasted like peppered water. Bean dip had no flavor at all! It then took our waitress over 10 minutes before she came and asked what we wanted to order. My daughter said “for food or drinks?”. And she says “I’ll take your order for both.” She didn’t even ask what we wanted for drinks! We then got our food, all of our guacamole tasted like nothing, our rice was sooo gross!! Our waitress never came by again while we ate our food. Until the very end and asked if we were done. We asked for boxes and she handed us the bill and said “I WILL take it!”... my chicken taquito was good and that’s it. Everything else was so awful including customer service. And they are...

Very disappointing. We heard they were a good Mexican restaurant to try and were excited to venture out of Utah for a family day. Were we in for a huge disappointment. After waiting for FORTY minutes for our food and not once even being checked on, we realized we were not only forgotten about but they hadn’t even submitted our order in that we had requested 35 minutes prior. We finally elected to check out. My husband being the polite and respectful person he is- of course asked to pay for our drinks. I was so upset the cashier didn’t even apologize on herb own or offer the drinks as complimentary. I let her know I was so disappointed in their lack of service and all she said was they were busy. We happened to be the ONLY family NOT served their dinner. She couldn’t even offer a genuine apology or perhaps our food compliments of the house TO GO for our time and for being forgotten about.
