This place has a very authentic German feel, from the atmosphere to the décor. The small beer garden out back is a great spot to kick back and relax with a drink. We stopped in after a day of hiking and were pleasantly surprised—the pretzel came out fresh and piping hot, and the beer was ice-cold with a great $3 special on a select German brew. It really hit the spot. The only downside was the early closing time; most of the restaurants in the area shut down around 9:00 PM. It would be great if they extended their hours, especially on weekends. We would’ve loved to relax and enjoy the atmosphere a bit longer, but we only had about 20 minutes before closing. They've got corn hole and the classic swing-the-ring game, which adds a fun, laid-back vibe. There's even a TV so you can catch your favorite game while enjoying the ambiance. Great spot for a casual hangout...
Read moreI am NOT an outgoing/interactive/engaging person by nature but there’s some magic here. The employees love their jobs. The owner, the entertainment, the happiness…it brought something silly out in me that rarely happens. It is located at the VERY end (or beginning, depending on which direction you’re coming into Helen) directly behind Wendy’s and the parking is slightly hidden but it’s on the back side of the restaurant on the quaint “one way” lane. There is seating for all desires; inside and quiet, in the “beer garden” area (where this video was taken) or just outside the beer garden on the patio. Christoffs has something for everyone and the hospitality...

The pretzel was good, but the bright orange "beer" cheese was not: too small, lacked beer cheese flavor, and paled in comparison to King Ludwig's (the best beer cheese with the most depth on our trip) and Bodensee (a notably above average beer cheese in Helen as well). I loved the $3 dunkels! But no tap water available for paying customers? How are you making the pretzels without water? 😆 How hard is it to throw an Igloo cooler jug outside with some paper cone cups? $15/month? Quaint spot, but...
