Homemade IceCream — Restaurant in Helen

I originally left a 3 star review, but changed it to one star due to the rudeness of the owners comment to my original review. Original review: Not enough ice cream in the root beer float and definitely not worth the price. Also staff not friendly, she should at least pretend to be happy.

To the owner: as a customer the only base I have to judge is with the information given, i didn’t say she was rude, I am sorry that your employee lost her mother, how was I to know, but that still doesn’t change the fact that everyone who works in retail has to pretend to be happy at one point or another. I myself have had to do so, I have also had to work long hours and days to cover such situations for coworkers. And as the owner you should have stepped in and worked for your employee who obviously couldn’t handle working with your customers, since a retail establishment is about customer service. My daughter and I came in for a root beer float. I ordered a root beer float . Paid 12.00 for a plastic cup , A and w root beer from the can ( not the whole can) and one scoop of ice cream. The server was not friendly what so ever. . I should have gone to the store got a 6 pack of root beer and a gallon of ice cream That would have would have. Even better and cheaper. If this really was home aid ice cream, it is time to change the recipe.

Just a comment on the owners response on another review.....if your employee's mother just died, why did you not work for her? I understand that she would have been to upset to work. Customers only see someone that is rude and that effects YOUR business. But instead you made a Nasty comment to a customer that will likely never be back. As someone who has worked at an ice cream shop herself for three years, I can say I was extremely disappointed in this place. The ice cream had little to no flavor and was very frostbitten. Good ice cream should not have icicles and the only reasoning for this is poor execution when making the product or just serving old product. Not to add I paid 8 dollars for this small portion size. No matter how “homemade” you call it, this price cannot be justified. Not to add the utter disrespect I received from the employees. They were making it seem like I was a burden by coming in to order something.
