Deeply Troubled by Paul's Steakhouse's Disrespectful Treatment of a Marine Veteran and Service Dogs.
I feel compelled to express my utmost disappointment and outrage at the appalling treatment that a Marine veteran and his wife experienced at Paul's Steakhouse. Although I was not present at the restaurant myself, the accounts I have heard from reliable sources have left me deeply troubled and determined to shed light on this disturbing incident.
Memorial Day weekend should be a time for honoring and paying respect to those who have bravely served our country. It is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by veterans and to express our gratitude. However, it is disheartening to learn that Paul's Steakhouse failed to live up to the spirit of this important occasion.
According to witnesses, the Marine veteran and his wife, accompanied by their service dogs, were subjected to mockery and denial of service. The very idea that anyone would openly mock and demean a veteran for their service is beyond comprehension. Veterans have risked their lives and made tremendous sacrifices to protect our freedoms, and it is our duty as citizens to treat them with the utmost respect and gratitude.
The fact that the staff at Paul's Steakhouse not only mocked the veteran but also denied service based on the presence of service dogs is deeply disturbing. Service dogs play an essential role in the lives of individuals PTSD and disabilities, providing crucial support and assistance. It is not only unethical but also illegal to discriminate against individuals and their service animals. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) clearly outlines the rights of individuals and their service dogs in public spaces, including restaurants.
It is disheartening to think that in this day and age, there are still establishments that fail to understand and respect the rights of disabled individuals. By mocking and denying service to this Marine veteran and his wife, Paul's Steakhouse has displayed a shocking lack of empathy, understanding, and basic human decency.
Until Paul's Steakhouse shows a genuine commitment to addressing this issue and creating an inclusive and respectful atmosphere, I cannot, in good conscience, endorse or recommend this establishment to anyone. Let us stand together in support of our veterans, ensuring that incidents like these are never repeated in any...

Great service but food was average. For a busy holiday weekend Saturday night it was a short wait. There's a nice area to wait, a long hallway with a bench and accessible bathrooms so you can sit in AC. The hostess and waitress were attentive and great and the other wait staff seemed to be the same. We had a party of 4 adults, 2 teens, and 5 children under 5...so not an easy party to deal with. Our waitress took time to talk to the kids and give them attention. Others also stopped when they walked by for a quick chat. We let the waitress know that it was 14yo girl's birthday and she seemed genuinely excited about it.
The food was not horrible, but for what's supposed to be the best Steak House in Helen, it was so-so. We ordered appetizers of bang bang shrimp which were amazing, 10/10 (buffalo flavor if you like that which we do) and fried cheese sticks which were average 7/10. For entrees we ordered shrimp and ribs. Shrimp again were 10/10, ribs were 5/10 on cook with 10/10 sauce. They tasted reheated. Being a steakhouse, we ordered two NY Strip Steaks and 3 Ribeyes. One NY Strip was cooked to the right temperature but flavor was bland overall. The other NY Strip was overdone. Waitress was very apologetic and a new steak came out rather quickly, but unfortunately it was completely raw, so they had to take it back and refire it. The third time it was cooked appropriately, but everyone else had finished theirs by then. Of the three Ribeyes, two were appropriate temperature (one was undercooked).
For 2 of 5 steaks to be cooked inappropriately and for 1 to be wrong on the second try was disappointing. The seafood seemed to be better so I may try a seafood entree next time but with so many other restaurants to try in Helen it'll probably be a while before we...
Read moreFood was terrible. The quality of ingredients is way below industry standard. My wife and I ordered the "Paul Ribeye" with baked potatoes and salad. It was choice grade but you can clearly tell that the beef was genetically engineered and fed garbage. The quality of the meat was absolutely repulsive. I wasn't expecting a Ruth's Chris steak but this is worse than what you would get at waffle House. Most of the meat was left on the plate and the waiter didn't even bother to question what was wrong with it. The baked potato looked like it had been in a warming oven for days getting ready to be used for potato soup next week.
The children ordered the chicken tenders and fries. Seriously the chicken tenders look like it was taken out of 120 lb cardboard box of pre mechanically separated white and dark bird meat that I highly doubt it's just straight chicken it's probably a mix of pheasant crow and yardbird. When you got starving children and you leave up out of the table and the plates are full of fries and chicken tenders that she tell you something. Seriously all of the food that we were supposed to eat was left on the plates and I'm sure what we did manage to digest will be leaving our rectums in a projectile fashion.
I know you might think this is funny but the food here is flat out gross! If you're a local here you need to have your taste buds examined by your general practitioner. If you're a Tourist do not come here unless your standards of eating is low.
And to top it off it was very expensive. $15 for chicken tenders and fries it was pure garbage right out of a freezer? Our total bill between four people with no alcohol or drinks was $135 for that trash. If it just been me and my guy friends we'd have went to jail I wouldn't pay them $1. At restaurant was very fortunate that I was here...
