Everything was prepared well and tasted great. No online reservations at this time. We arrived at 5:00p, and it was filled by 6:15p on a Friday night. Service was very attentive. The building has a ventilation issue, as soon as we walked in, there is a heavy and prevalent burnt oil scent that is impossible to not notice (like old deep fryer oil). The music overhead is a bit funky (think of a 1970's TV detective shows (Kojak, Streets of SFO, Dragnet, etc) type of soundtracks; however it is muted. There is a variety of seating, a large bar, many booths, and some tables making it larger inside than it appears from outside. But it filled up fast (1/2 hour), and some were waiting when we left.

Food Portions are good. Tempura Shrimp were excellent and fresh oil was used on it and all other tempura we ordered. Put your tempura orders together, and they will come out at the same time. This food is a cut above however both in preparation and presentation. Edamame was large and salted perfect. Our Salmon collar steak (pictured) was large and had fantastic seared flavor. Take a look at the online menu (ZMenu) and you will see a great variety here. This is not simply a Sushi Roll shop and offer some very expensive Kobe and Sashimi offerings. The Roll menu is a bit smallish, however the Tokyo Boys Roll and Dragon Roll (both pictured) were very tasty and filling. I found the Grilled Eel to be super tasty here. Food always arrived promptly. They have a good wine and beer menu.

Expect to pay about 33% more for your orders however, than you would at say "Momo" restaurant which is only a block away. It is not a white table cloth establishment however. I would certainly come back again to try more, however my wife was especially sensitive to the prevalent deep fryer oil smell that was in the air. For that and a couple of other small things I am...

Oh wow.. I’m so glad I tried this place!!!

I’ve been sleeping on Tokyo boys for a few years now and I finally gave them a shot. Huge win!! As a Henderson local, I am proud to say I’ve found my favorite sushi bar across town. Big shout out to chef HIRO San and his team. Arigato gozaimasu!!!

From the outside the place looks like an old school 50s diner and it probably was at some point. On the inside you are instantly greeted with a warm irasshaimase welcome. The place is clean, multiple tables, old school booths and large sushi bar seating, clean restrooms and plenty of dining room options. With NBA playoffs on, the TVs were a nice touch. At the time I was dining solo and was very comfortable.

The sushi quality was amazing, breathtaking, even mouthwatering as you lust on your next bite. Spot on quality with sources such as Kagoshima and ehime. Thank you for the Bluefin and kanpachi. Had several bites of sushi, couple of rolls and finished with a delicious matcha brûlée and black sesame panna cotta.

I highly recommend taking a trip over to Henderson just to check this place out and enjoy your time as the Tokyo boys cater the experience. Arigato...

I moved from LA and felt right at home when I found this gem. The spicy tuna roll is fabulous, it mixes traditional tuna and toro. Chef Hiro really cares about the quality of the fish I always order Kanpachi, Madai (Snapper), Benitoro (Aburi Salmon Belly) and Halibut and theyre just perfect. I love that it's in an old diner, the vibe is great it feels like you're walking into a super cool space that's refreshed with the food and the vibe. The music is great! Not too loud and always playing something cool from reggae, to jazz, to indie alternative. The staff is amazing and knowledgable, they also sell merch which I think is great cause the shirts are sick. It's just a cool spot and I feel right at home. The only thing I want is some Engawa, if chef adds that to the menu I would be delighted. Also I love the Agedashi Tofu and if you like hot dishes or are new to Japanese food the Bento Box is a great deal and the Agedashi Tofu is yummy! To each their own of course, I don't really order Philadelphia rolls or California rolls so if thats what you're looking for this may not be the review for you but when you order authentic sushi, Chef Hiro...

I finally got to try this spot as it has been in my bookmarks for the last year. I got the Agedashi Tofu for my appetizer, and the 12 piece Sushi Combination (I chose tuna for the optional roll). The tofu was delicious and made perfectly with 3 tofu pieces, with the warm soy sauce broth, topped with grated daikon and chopped green onions. The miso soup that was served with the sushi combo was great, very simple with cubed tofu, seaweed and fresh green onions. The sushi was okay, but I probably would not order this again. Maybe it was the sushi rice that didn't do it for me. I think they make all there cooked items deliciously, and would want to try more of those next time. The fish is decent quality, so I would probably want to order the sashimi next, and the sushi rolls. Their service was great, and they were very attentive and quick. The atmosphere is very unique for a sushi restaurant, which I thought was really cute and fun.
