Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs — Restaurant in Henderson

My boyfriend and went around 9:10pm on Tuesday the 22nd and it was a bad experience. We usually come during the lunch time and we always have a great time but this time it was just really bad to the point where we decided to not order or dine in anymore. When we walked in we weren’t greeted which was weird because it was only one other person in there. We walked to the front and the person at the register didn’t even greet us and just asked us what we wanted. I ordered the magic mushroom with a dairy allergy and he ordered the g-13 with no tomatoes. We paid for our food and sat near the bar and we kept noticing that the bar tenders were just looking at us but not saying anything. While we were sitting another person walked in and they were immediately greeted very loudly and at that point I felt like the staff was discriminating against us. They called our name for our food and we left. When we got home my boyfriend checked his food and he had tomatoes on his which is crazy to me because we made sure our order was ready back to us because of my allergy. We understood the kitchen mistakes with his food so we weren’t too upset about it but honestly after the way we were treated that night we decided that we weren’t going to go anymore. If you are Black and wanted to try out Chiba Hut I would advice you to not go during that night time because the staff do discriminate. Update October 2024: took my 80 year old Mother. She could name all of the people in the mug shots and the mural except one. I was very impressed. She is still sharp. She was a bit disappointed in her sandwich. She said it tasted like bacon with barbecue sauce. That’s her review of the BBQ blunt. She actually loved the chocolate Krispy dessert and appreciated the Pepsi zero. She’s finicky and prefers it much better than diet. I’ve listed her updated pictures with captions.

Urban inside. Very cool visually and yes -There is a bar. With a beer 🍻 happy hour $1 off. Check out the hours. 3-7 Monday-Friday. It is a heavy weed culture. So check out the stickers and art. Even the palm trees are “trees”! Hahaha. They have some very cool mug shots like Elvis and Al Capone. The Submarine Sandwiches come in three lengths 4, 6, 12 inches. Obviously it’s more of a value to go big. Check out the pictures. I ordered the G-13. It’s a turkey, roast beef and bacon.

They don’t overfill the sub with much meat or toppings but the basics are there. One option I appreciate is the double toasted. I can’t stand a soggy drippy sub. Service is fantastic. Almost no wait. Someone was cleaning the tables. Ingredients were fresh and manly men were happily sharing brews at the bar on a late Saturday night. Ladies it might be cool to stop over and strike up a conversation being I’m now single also. Yet, I was in great company!! My dashing sons ❤️❤️❤️😍!

I hate doing this bc it's the holidays and I know no one likes working and this location is brand new. But the little overweight girl with glasses and curly hair needs a serious attitude adjustment. I've had better experiences at this location when I go at night to pick up UberEats orders, the employees are way nicer and more helpful. But every time I've gone before 1pm this miserable girl is working and she kills the entire vibe no matter how friendly I am to her (even after being kindly greeted by the bar girl every time). Just super rude, zero customer service skills, and acts like I'm inconveniencing her. I was so excited for this location to open on my side of town bc I love this place and 420 but I'm so disappointed now. I'd honestly rather go across town to a different location at this point. The majority of people are going through a hard time right now and she totally does not need to take that out on innocent customers.

EDIT: It's been 6 months since I wrote the review above and I decided to give this location one more shot. All sandwiches in my order were labeled incorrectly and someone in my group had already eaten my sandwich by the time I was ready to eat. My colleague should've recognized that it wasn't his sandwich but also I didn't think it was that hard for y'all to label things. This location seriously needs to work on quality control...
