I don’t normally do this because generally I don’t like to complain, I just go somewhere new. The village pub has been a go to spot of mine since the 90’s. Particularly the sunset location and more recently I’ve been visiting the warm springs location. The warm springs location is a far cry from the sunset location in terms of food, staff and atmosphere. I would recommend the sunset location to anyone at anytime of day. However the warm springs location seems to be suffering. It was practically dead this past Friday evening at 9 there was 5 people at the bar. It took 10 minutes to get someone’s attention to get our drink order. Then another 10 to be served 2 beers. Then another 5 to get a menu. I’m now $40 into the machine in front of me nd my roommate is $60 into his and we order. I order a special steak & eggs, medium rare over medium steak fries and wheat toast. Roommate ordered a build your own burger. The food was delivered promptly. As I started into the eggs they were noticeably a bit overcooked, nothing serious, until the first bite. There was 0 flavor and the texture was so strange I had to force it down. Ugh! 😣 on to the steak. It appeared to be cooked just right but again, as soon as it hit my mouth I could tell something wasn’t right. The only thing I could taste was the salty seasoning and I chewed on that first bite for a solid minute before choking it down. I pushed it to the side and waited for 1 of the 2 guys to check on us as they usually do, but not tonight. Every time one of them got close enough they were talking to the other so I couldn’t get their attention politely. So we sat, thru eating, thirsty ( only being served 1 beverage since our arrival) and after 1.5 hrs $80 and an $11 bill that should have refused but was too annoyed to even get started with the server that we just settled up and left. This was by far the worst visit to any village pub and this particular location has been on the decline for a while now. As it stands, I feel burnt and I will not visit that location for food ever again and I will be wishing for a better go to spot in my neighborhood. My advice, don’t eat at the warm...
Read moreEven though it is supposed to be open for 24/hrs, the night shift dude makes sure to not answer the doorbell. Unless you are a regular, youll be wasting your time coming here after dark. They have a camera so before they "buzz" you in they can see who you are . That's where we trace back to what I was already saying about being a regular .. On the rare occasion(s) where they actually let you inside after dark, then they'll just make sure to be extremely unwelcoming. At that point they honestly, practically, go out of there way to make you feel like you are actually intruding. They make sure you know this too. Not to mention, youll find yourself feeling completely uncomfortable and the atmosphere almost shifts 180° during the rare nights where they let "outsiders" enter. They're rude and disrespectful , emphasis on the "rude". The only reason I actually gave them ★★☆☆☆ vs ☆☆☆☆☆ (or ★☆☆☆☆ since you generally cant rate lower than that) is because the girly that works in the early daytime/mornings is so sweet. She makes sure to remember things you say when you guys converse. Even being somebody who is not regularly stopping by the place, she still will recall so much of the things you guys might talk about the next time you do pop by during her shift. Shes just a light truthfully and shes so lovely/nice. Oh and their chocolate brownie thingys tend to be soooo yummy. that's the only other reason they earned the two/five hahhaa. P.S. to the girl, hopefully since I am bad with names, you know who I am talking about.. and I just wanna say don't change, you really are so sweet. It sucks that the workers who work during the other shifts can't seem to be even remotely the same. If only they knew how to take nates from the one girl that's really sweet! I recommend to other locals who just happen to not be regulars here, to probably reconsider going , especially at night. Well unless you want to feel horrible and enjoy being treated like a total nuisance.(just to say the least on the way...
