My experiences here are some of the best I've had. The management is outstanding, the staff are all you could ask for (and more), and most of all, the various treats are incredible! Although a little on the expensive side, I'd say it's worth it, considering everything in the store (edible wise) is made by Kilwin's. The ice cream has a high butterfat content, making it as rich as it is addictive. The waffle cones compliment the ice cream the best (I suggest Cappuccino Chocolate Chip), and you can even get their legendary hot-fudge to go on it. They source the cacao from only responsibly-farmed cacao trees, and it takes you to cloud nine. The truffles and various candies are not only made in-house, but also some of the best in WNC. My personal favorite is the decadent Irish-cream truffles. They also make gift boxes filled with customized chocolates, caramels, and nougats. Don't forget to try the caramel apples, either. Last I checked, they make them with Honeycrisp apples, making them very crisp and sweet, yet balanced. Of course, this review wouldn't be complete without mentioning the famous Kilwin's Fudge. Always made in-house, it's the best damn fudge you'll buy in a store. Rich, heavenly, and even ambrosial aren't good enough adjectives for what this fudge is. Try some, and you'll understand. Perhaps via the free fudge samples they have when...
Read moreOnly been there once, and I plan on going back! I don't usually eat ice cream because I'm lactose sensitive, but when it's that good, you just got to go back for another taste! My daughter loved it, she's not really picky anyway. But what was impressive, was that she actually sat to eat her ice cream. She's usually running around and wanting to do other things, but this time for whatever reason she was totally fine sitting and just looking at all the things they had around. My husband absolutely loves his place! I got a double scoop Waffle Bowl and he got a double scoop waffle cone dipped in chocolate and nuts. If you have the funds, try the dip waffle cone! It's fantastic! He almost didn't let me have a bite, but I'm glad he did ;-) I also love that they have local flavors, like the Hendersonville mud and a few others (that I cannot remember) but they were good when I sampled them. I'm not sure if they make their own chocolates, but rumor has it that they do! And if that's true, then I will definitely be getting at least a box to try their candies, and other Confections. I love homemade stuff, and if this stuff is homemade and not shipped in from another location, I will edit and add to this review to let you guys know! Hope...
Read moreIt is always a treat going to Kilwins! This trip I ordered a deconstructed ice cream cone. I really wanted one of their homemade chocolate dipped icecream cones but I wanted it for later. My icecream was packaged as well as the cone but separately. After dinner back at home I inserted my two scoops of icecream into the cone. So delicious!!
My daughter was with me. She pointed out their sugar-free treat section. I have a dear friend that only recently discovered his diabetes. I purchased some Sugar Free Caramel Pop Corn for a Halloween surprise for him. I am certain with Kilwin's quality it will be amazing. I know for a fact that their Peanut Carmel Corn (Regular, not sugar free is addictive!!
My daughter is a fan of their fudge! That's what she picked out. The carmel apples looked so appealing. I may need to go back for one of those!
So many options. This is a heavenly...
