Latest Visit on 12/6/24: It’s been a year and a half since my last review of Lambeau’s so thought a review update was in order. Been twice since my first review, most recently just last week. Service continues to be slow, but not as slow as the first time. What has gone up for us is the quality of the food. Trying more things on the menu, and repeating the Redfish Cozumel, I now have a much better impression. Last trip was in a group of seven, which they accommodated with call ahead. Seated right away on a Friday night and server was waiting for us. Ordered drinks right away, but they took forever to arrive. Food came much quicker. Everyone in our party of 7 was very happy with their meal choices. So, up from a 2 star to a 3, and pushing toward a 4 for me.
First review in May 2023: Went for an early dinner. The food was good, but the service was really slow and inattentive and generally poor. Our server would disappear from the area for long periods of time, or spend an exorbitant amount of time chatting with a table. She did that with us and just would not go away even when we looked down and started our own conversation. As for the meals, we started with the pretzel with queso dip and spicy brown mustard. Two traditional size soft pretzels and a small serving of queso and mustard. Just ordinary. When delivered the young man delivering asked if we wanted small plates for sharing the pretzels, we said yes but the plates never came. Then my wife had the Southwestern Chicken Eggrolls. They were fine, but not as good as similar products at a couple of chain restaurants. I had the Redfish Cozumel. Fish was well cooked and flavorful, avocado on top was perfect ripeness, veggies on the side were done perfectly, rice was a bit dry and overcooked. But, all in all a very good fish meal for the price. Didn’t have dessert because we ran out of time waiting for our server. The place was not busy and there were plenty of people standing around doing nothing, so service issues had no excuse. I would have to rate this as just an average sports bar for food and experience overall, but not as good as some of the chains filling the same category a...
Read moreA new addition to the Shops at Highland Village, Lambeau's America Kitchen and Taps is the next offering from the creative minds behind the popular Verf's and Shoal Creek Tavern. It's a sports bar, mostly, so you know what you're getting into .. lots of TVs and a (sometimes) deafening noise level .. the open ceiling seems to really amplify this, as I could barely hear the person sitting across from me in the same booth. Food is a mix of entrees and appetizers, but sadly, the quality of the other two places just isn't here. I will qualify this by saying that they are less than 2 weeks old as of this review, so tweaks hopefully are coming. I ordered the "Juicy Lucy", a burger stuffed with American and cheddar cheese. The end product was just okay ; a very thin filling of cheese inside the burger. I've had this before .. the patty should be thick, the cheese rich and gooey. Fries were an interesting variation, more like twisted and thinner wedge potatoes. My companion had the chimichanga, and this was a mess. The menu said it was filled with spicy beef - what he got was neither spicy nor beef, it was pulled pork. When he called this to the server's attention, their only reply was "But does it taste okay?", completely missing the point that the entree was wrong and needed replacing. After that, someone from the kitchen staff came to the table to address this and asked him if he "wanted them to make him another". Well, DUH! The final product was not worth the hassle nor wait. Given their pedigree, this could be good .. for now, it's just a loud bar with sub par eats. A sidenote - we ran into some neighbors there who were also dining ; their experience was similar, stating they had really slow service along with a bland burger and a Coney dog that...
Read moreTo preface this… My wife and I are very experienced with travel… Food adventures… Experience… not attempting to be over critical… But we have lots of experiences to compare to… It helps us relate and review ....My wife and I decided to try this place due to its location on a beautiful Saturday afternoon… Our expectation was A sports bar with basic American food… We ordered the cheese curds… Which were good… Not midwest cheese curds… But more of a cheese stick that’s cut up… mozzarella cheese stick type breading… Not a beer batter or thin breading like traditional cheese curds… We also started with the wings… Which were subpar in my opinion… They were small and fried and dried out… Just not a place I would go back to you for wings…my wife ordered the chicken Ramen noodle salad… Which is an interesting concoction… Not necessarily good or bad… Just sort of like making grilled chicken… Ramen noodles… And throwing it in with some mixed greens.... I ordered the juicy Lucy… Definitely a lot of cheese… I like that… And it was quite good… their curly fries were kind of whatever… But we had good service… And it was a nice afternoon visit… But we probably won’t return anytime soon based on being utterly impressed by any of the food that we experienced… with that said… If you’re looking to burn an afternoon… With basic food and eats… This place is in a good location… And it was not a bad experience… But it definitely was...
