I recently visited Mashed Burgers and ordered their Spicy Mash Fries and a Fruity Pebbles Shake, and here’s my honest take on the meal. The Spicy Mash Fries came with a $1 upcharge for the spice, which I was initially excited about for an extra kick. Unfortunately, the spice was practically nonexistent, which was disappointing given the added cost.
That said, the dish itself was still delicious. The fries were crispy and flavorful, serving as the perfect base for the toppings: a mashed burger patty, melted American cheese, sautéed onions, pickles, and a drizzle of their signature mash sauce. The mashed patty was thin, juicy, and packed with flavor, while the American cheese added a creamy richness. The sautéed onions brought a subtle sweetness, the pickles added a tangy crunch, and the mash sauce tied everything together with its creamy, savory profile.
The portion was generous, and the mix of textures made every bite satisfying. While the lack of spice was a letdown, the overall quality of the dish still made it enjoyable.
The Fruity Pebbles Shake was a highlight of the meal! It came topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of Fruity Pebbles, adding a fun, colorful touch. The shake itself was a blend of vanilla ice cream with Fruity Pebbles mixed in, and you could feel the little bits of cereal as you sipped, which added a nice texture and a burst of fruity flavor. It tasted like a nostalgic dessert—creamy, sweet, and playful, with the vanilla ice cream providing a smooth base for the fruity cereal bits.
The shake paired perfectly with the savory fries, balancing out the meal beautifully. The casual vibe at Mashed Burgers, with its modern decor and branded paper lining, added to the laid-back dining experience. Overall, I’d give this meal a 3.5 out of 5—deducting points for the missing spice on the fries, but the tasty fries, flavorful toppings, and delightful shake made it a meal...
Read moreVisiting from Perth, Australia. This seemed like a God send on my final night in New York. I was very sad that there wasn’t any proper halal American food throughout NYC or Jersey, until a divine intervention in the form of a TikTok told me about this place. I visited with my extended family and there was plenty of room for 12 of us to sit once we dragged a few tables together in front of the sofas. Every single one of us was astounded by how good the food was. I ordered a triple smash burger with spicy tenders as well, I also ordered the strawberry and dragonfruit refreshment. Let me just say the fact that the food was that flavourful at 1:30am on a Saturday was mind blowing, the drink the tender the burger all had exceptional and phenomenal flavour and taste. The exact thing I needed to truly experience an American dinner before going back to Australia. The man with the beard talked with us with a big smile on his face, he let us use the toilets which were kept in supreme and clean conditions which just added the cherry on top for how amazing this...
Read moreAbsolute Gem in Hoboken. Mashed Burger absolutely deserves the spotlight. If you're judging this place based on delivery, you're missing out — third-party delivery services can hold the food so long it arrives soggy and cold. That’s not on Mashed. Do yourself a favor and go in person.
Fresh off the grill, their burgers and Nashville-style sandwiches are next-level. Juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked — every single time. I've tried other places that focus too much on quantity and not quality, and the result is often undercooked or dry chicken. But not at Mashed. They’ve clearly mastered their craft — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor.
I went with my wife and 1-year-old son, and even he couldn’t stop dancing after a few bites. That says it all. This place brings joy, bite after bite.
