Rocco's Pizza — Restaurant in Hollywood

Sorry for the long paragraph Summary- Bad service, good food

I am not one to usually post reviews on any place, but this place just rubbed me the wrong way. We got to the beach pretty early, around 10:30am and were looking for places to eat and found this place. We were informed by one of the staff that they just stopped serving breakfast but we were more than welcomed to sit down and wait for lunch to start being served, which would take 10-15 minutes, which we were more than fine with as it was super hot and they offered shaded seats. As we were walking to a seat another staff member came out and apologized to everyone and said it would actually take 30-45 minutes, but did not explicitly "Kick people out". However, everyone started to leave and so did I and my partner, but we intended to come back, we were just going to the shop essentially next door to get some ice cream to cool down. This only took about 6-8 minutes as the ice cream place was empty except us and we walked back to the restaurant and proceeded to sit down, under the interpretation that it was still okay since we were literally just told we could, there would just be a wait until food began being served. Suddenly the staff member who came out the second time previously came to us and said "We aren't serving lunch right now. Next time don't seat yourselves and wait to be seated." and handed us menus and walked away. She was extremely rude and walked away before we could explain that we were just told a few minutes prior that we could sit down and we were totally fine with the wait. A few minutes later another couple came up and she stuck her head out and said loudly " We aren't serving lunch right now, they just sat themselves down." Like excuse me. WE WERE TOLD WE COULD BY ONE OF YOUR STAFF. Not even a minute later the first girl who again TOLD US WE WERE MORE THAN WELCOME TO SIT DOWN AND WAIT came out and sat the couple down and gave them menus, kindly. The second girl continued to give us attitude for the rest of dinning experience. Everyone else was super kind except her. The food was okay, kinda salty, but its a good price. The location is nice too and there is a lot of outside seating with plenty of shade. Other than that girl being extremely rude and condescending it was good, but I would not go in there again if I saw her as she ruined it for me and my partner. I can see where we could have been in the wrong with this because we left and came back, even if it was for a few minutes, but there was no need to be that rude, especially since we were told we could sit down and wait. I would like to note there is a sign that says please wait for host to seat you, but again we were told we could sit down anywhere and wait so take that...

I went to Rocco's today with my mother, my son, and my daughter. It was mine and my mom's Mother's Day lunch. Our waitress's name was Ashley. She took our drink order and forgot my daughter's sprite, brought her a water instead and said she would be right back and then never came back. 10 minutes later when she brought the appetizer I reminded her about the Sprite. The appetizer was supposed to be 12 pieces of shrimp and they only gave us 10. When she came back to take our appetizer plates she asked if the shrimp was okay we mentioned that they shorted us two shrimp but said it's not a big deal, it's no problem. When they finally brought out the meals my daughter and I had the bacon cheeseburgers with french fries and while everybody was fixing their food and getting ready to eat my daughter made a noise and pulled back away from the table and said there's a bug on her plate. Since my kids phones are never far from their hands she snapped a picture real quick and we all kind of just sat there for a second a little disgusted and dumbfounded. I said I'm just going to go pay for the appetizer and drinks and I want to go, I guess one of the young servers heard us and she was by the table, she asked what was wrong and we said there's a bug on her plate. She saw the bug on the side of the plate and was like oh my God she took the plate for us and me and my daughter went inside to pay. We told Ashley that there was something on the plate crawling and Ashley said that maybe it flew onto the plate from outside. My daughter told her that it didn't have wings and then I told my daughter to show us the picture. When we looked at it and enlarged it it was a baby cockroach. Ashley asked if she could show the photo to the manager and back so we let her take the phone back there she came back and was trying to say that usually if something like this happens (how many freaking times does this happen there!!!) That they would take off for that plate but that we would have to pay for the rest and we said no we are just going to pay for the appetizer and drinks, we are not eating the rest so we're not paying for the rest of it so she said okay and just took the credit card. I'm already totally disgusted thinking about the piece of bread or biscuit or whatever it was that came with our appetizer and that I ate from both of those things. I didn't want to make a big scene but the more I think about it they should have totally comped us for the appetizer and the drinks. That was a baby roach so you know if you see a baby there's a lot more where that came from and I'm really disgusted because I was there on April 4th for my birthday and I had the same meal, we all ate there then. That should have been handled a lot...

This was our second time coming here. Today, however, our server Ashley was very abrupt in the way she spoke throughout our entire visit. We came here for Mother's day with my mom, grandmother, brother, and I.

We ordered drinks which our server Ashley forgot to bring over my sprite and we had to ask a second time. Our appetizer was supposed to be 12 buffalo shrimps and divided between our group of 4 would have been 3 each. We were two shrimps short(we told our server). This is nothing major but they should still make sure they are giving the right amount that is advertised on their menu's. Next, all of our meals came out and I had ordered the bacon burger with fries. I started fixing my bread for the burger and all of a sudden I noticed a little cockroach 🪳 crawling around the bottom part of my burger 🤮 The four of us were so grossed out we were done with the place. We called the young hostess over and she saw the cockroach and took the plate away. We didn't cause a scene or anything we just got up and went to find our server Ashley and she was saying maybe it just landed on my plate after she brought it out. That is ridiculous. It came from the bottom of the burger. It came from the kitchen! We wanted to pay our bill and leave. None of us ate the four meals that just came out because of the cockroach. We wanted to just pay for the drinks we had and the appetizer and get the hell out of there but Ashley said we had to go sit back down while she calls the owner to see if she could take all of our meals off our bill! What kind of customer service is this. Of course no one else is going to eat their food because of a cockroach on my plate that came from the kitchen. They should have automatically just forgave our bill for this disgusting ridiculousness but we were still willing to pay for our drinks and appetizer. Ashley comes back with a bill of just that. I guess the owner doesn't understand good customer service either. So we paid $52.50 for just the drinks and appetizer we already ate and left.
