This is my very first bad reviews.
I was coming into town for the night, I had a funeral to attend in the morning. Unfortunately I missed my flight and was unable to stay at the property.
I called the motel, a young woman answered. She told me the motel doesn’t do refunds and to call Expedia and they will refund my money.
I call Expedia and the customer service agent said the motel would need to lift the penalty.
I call the motel again and another woman answers. I told her my situation, she said no refunds just credits. I told her the Expedia site says “free cancellations” and in the questionnaire when it’s asks about refunds and cancellations. It says YES. I mention this information to the woman. She said to speak with her manager in the morning. I ask for the managers name and she refused. I asked the woman over the phone for her name and she said Rosa. I continued to ask for the managers name and she argued with me saying that’s personal information and said hold. Puts me on hold for 25 minutes. I call the property back and she hung up. I called three more times she continued to hang up on me.
I work in hotel sales and have studied hospitality law, I have been in this industry for 15 years. The behavior displayed by the front desk agent is absolutely disgusting.
Guest satisfaction is a top priority. Motel employees are the face of the brand and positive interaction with guests has to be a must. In order to create trust and loyalty. This creates return guests and revenue for the property. The motels goal should be providing an enjoyable and welcoming atmosphere.
This experience amazes me because clearly this shows the very low standard of training. I only chose this tiny beach motel, this was a vacation spot when I was a child.
There are two local major universities specializing in hospitality & tourism management. Two local community colleges with similar programs. FAU offers a free Hospitality management certificate program. Maybe having one of these options as a requirement for your next hire.
I contacted Florida Restaurant & Lodging association about this mattered and filed...
Read moreTerrible! A waste of almost $600 for a 2 night stay. Upon arrival there is a long line, me and my children weren’t serviced for check in until after an hour and 30 mins. I’m not much of a complainer and I’m extremely understanding, so I thought ok they’re short staffed , fine. I specifically asked for a 1 bedroom with the room detached from the living room. Obviously that’s what a one bedroom is but I thought to stress the point so that I would not have to go back into the office. I received my room key and got exactly what I did not want. Went back to the office and received a different set of keys this time at a another one of their hotels. Imagine my surprise when I walk in and it was the same thing I didn’t want which was a studio just at a different location AGAIN. I’m doing all of this driving back and forth with 2 kids and 6 months pregnant. I go back and finally received keys for this hotel (sea turtle) which is at a different location as well. We walk in, it’s a mess, there’s wet toilet paper stuck to the bathroom floor, the shower literally looks like a jail cell, the water pressure is trash, and to make matters worse as I’m falling asleep I hear little footsteps or scratching on the floor or in the walls! They have the absolute nerve to now charge a “resort” fee, which was $64 plus parking and the $100 deposit. Smh the deposit I understand but a resort fee?? For what? Me and my children basically stayed at a motel near the beach, nothing about this place screamed resort. I will NEVER...
Read moreThe room was decent. I payed for a parking pass and my car still got towed, which cost me $200usd to get back. There also was an incident in the court yard with a couple guest, who were reported to the front desk for being extremely loud, playing music very loud all day and ALL night. Lots of banging between rooms. Taking up parking spots without permits, causing the guest with permits getting towed. Once the front deck came to resolve the situation, the party guest got very aggressive and pulled out a fire arm on another guest for making a complaint. The guest who threatened other guests with a fire arm, was also offering many different types of drugs to everyone on the property, mainly crack, while children are playing in the court yard. To top things, after the fire arm was pulled and front desk was notified, no one came to make sure that the guest who was assaulted was okay. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone, especially if you have children. Stay safe out there...
