We tried this place on our first day in Homer. When we walked in, it was definitely a stuffy, uninviting atmosphere, no welcome, or good morning or even a smile (That in itself should've been enough to tell us to try some place else) . We didn't know whether to sit or be shown to a table, to order first or not. I hope it was just an off day for the staff behind the counter because they were short and not very friendly. Well, when we didn't see a sign that said wait to be seated, we sat. After sitting a while with no service, my husband went up to the front and asked if we were supposed to order first. The girl said yes. So we proceeded to order. This little place touted to have the best biscuits in Homer, so that's what we ordered along with coffee. I wouldn't go back and really wouldn't recommend it because there are plenty of other local places that are happy to have you visit as well as spend your money there, with much better...

Read Cassandra T's earlier review and take it x2 because it was essentially the same experience we had. Employee working the counter ignored us when we walked in. Then while placing our order with the same employee, my wife asked if the egg on her bacon, egg, and cheese could be scrambled instead of over hard and was told "Sorry, we can't accommodate special requests in case the kitchen gets busy".
There were literally 4 people there at the time. And besides, how hard is it to pan scramble an egg? I'm sure if she'd have asked the chef, it wouldn't have been a problem. But nope. No scrambled egg allowed on bacon, egg, and cheese. 🙄
So we decided to eat elsewhere and just got coffee here, which was actually very good and went well with our Bagel sandwichs we got down the road. Would like to try the food here someday, as long as they don't mind scrambling an egg for my wife. Maybe...
Read moreWas always my favorite place other than a strange situation a few months ago. I was starving on a my short lunch break. I don't eat meat and paid (with tip) for a breakfast bagel with a request to omit the ham. I waited about 20 minutes to be informed that the cook relayed a message to me they can't make my request because omitting the ham was something they couldn't do for me. I said, 'ok, how about just a bagel with egg and cheese? Server shook her head and said they couldn't do that either. So I asked for a bagel with just cream cheese, she shook her head. I asked for a toasted bagel with butter? She was apologetic and said the cook couldn't do that for me either. I asked for a swap, anything to put in my stomach and it looked like it was out of her hands so I left because I was in a hurry and had to finish my shift on an empty stomach. When I drive by CC to this day, I can't help but remember that there's a meal there...
