I finally got a chance to get to āTaste of Puerto Ricoā it is A MUST! The space is spotless the location is fit for a quick bit or a sit down meal , time had me limited to take out this day. The , sounds and smells of the sunny and beautiful Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico are now in HONESDALE and I have to pinch myself for not getting there sooner. As a 28 year Retired military veteran I left home early to become a US Marine. My mom passed when I was 10 years old. As soon as I walked up to the door the delicious smells of my childhood struck me full of wonderful memories. The food did not make it out to Main Street. I ate my beef empanada as soon as I sat down and wow, just wow. Fresh crisp shell with beautifully seasoned meat, then I dug into the cheese filled one followed by the chicken., Wow. I rushed home and couldnāt help but serve myself the oiled to perfection, yellow rice and peas (Arroz con Gandules) and again my childhood came back. The dinners with mom and trips to Puerto Rico all fresh in my mind. This is a diamond of Main Street and worthy of a travel from far away to taste the food of the Island. I ordered the Pastelles, which I loved, the Pork (Perneal) was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the rice and pink beans were perfect. The price points are within working peopleās means and the servings are so that one cannot finish it all and Iām 6 foot 2, 260 pounds . I will bring my wife to eat in soon but Iām just amazed at the quality, freshness and authenticity āTaste of Puerto Ricoā, Caroline and her amazing family have brought to HONESDALE and the NE PA region. Get there and youāll see, smell and taste the beautiful Island for...

He thought the drive would be worth it this restaurant is about an hr and a half from us but we took the drive. When we arrived one of the young ladies was very welcoming however the other one not so much. My husband speak Spanish I speak both I was also speaking Spanish I though this being āa taste from Puerto Ricoā šµš· they spoke Spanish the young lady with attitude said āI donāt speak Spanishā I said but this is a Spanish restaurant āwell my parents didnāt teach meā and every answer that came out of her mouth was with attitude. I wanted a yuca alcapuria she said there isnāt any. This was TERRIBLE service so not the worth the gas and time. If this would have been good we would have visited more often but I would never come back. We did grab food to go however will not be back. Very disappointing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wish this restaurant was indeed a ātaste of puertoā but truly it is not. Letās start off by mentioning the fact that none of the employees besides the cook speak a lick of Spanish. The waitresses seemed flustered and irritated not welcoming at all, we werenāt not taken care of at our table for our order. Instead, they watched my family and i sit there for 10 minutes before i decided to get up and ask if Iām supposed to order our food at the counter which she proceeded to say yes with an attitude. They do not have GLASS plate or proper utensils. They have paper plates or you have to eat in āto goā plates. The best thing Iād say were the beans š«, besides that, the rice and chicken and slight flavor. I wish this restaurant nothing but success, but we will not...
